Fake

I can't wade through 8 pages of posts so I don't know if this has been mentioned yet but at around 1:08 in the video you can clearly see that the champagne "iPhone" is a mock up with no headphone jack.

I guess it makes sense though if someone put more metal inside the case to make up for the lack of actual interior components.

Nevermind

White and gold two tone?... Not so sure of that.not a good combo.
The c colors are definitely not to my taste... They look cheap.
Hope the real thing has better choice of tones and saturation.

When they introduce these at the event, and there is no black iPhone 5C (or whatever the name will be), I hope someone can ask the executives (hopefully a public Q&A on the stage) why they don't offer black.

It's fairly obvious they want you to buy the 'premium' iPhone 5S, if you want black color... I just want to hear their excuse.

No need for excuses, remember the black 2005 macbook? Black has always been the pro colour of the "modern" Apple...

A new video gives a detailed look at of Apple's upcoming "champagne" iPhone 5S along with a close look at the blue low-cost iPhone "5C". The video, posted by AppAdvice, compares the backplates of both devices to the existing iPhone 5 and gives the clearest look yet at the design of Apple's newest iPhones.

YouTube: video
As noted in multiple descriptions of the "gold" iPhone, the color is closer to a light champagne than it is to a bright and garish gold. The video depicts a subdued gold color that matches well with the silver of the existing iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5C and 5S backplates in the video appear to be similar in size to the existing iPhone 5. While the low-cost iPhone is slightly thicker due to its polycarbonate shell, the iPhone 5S is nearly identical to the iPhone 5 with the exception of the dual-LED rear flash. The iPhone 5S, which will be Apple's new flagship device, is also expected to feature a redesigned home button to incorporate its fingerprint sensor.

Though the iPhone 5S will feature improvements to the processor along with camera upgrades and other enhancements, the iPhone 5C will likely utilize existing iPhone 5 parts as it is rumored to be a replacement for the iPhone 5.

The iPhone 5C is shown in blue, but it will come in an array of colors including blue, green, red, yellow, and white. Apple is not expected to produce a black iPhone 5C, but all of the 5Cs will feature standard black faceplates with a matching black Apple logo on the back of the device.

As noted by AppAdvice the iPhone 5S features a shiny metallic logo along with thinner "iPhone" text, which appears to be inline with both the lettering on the iPhone 5C and Apple's overall adoption of skinnier fonts.

Earlier today a rumor surfaced suggesting that Apple could have a "graphite" colored iPhone 5S in the works, which would accompany the champagne/white, silver/white, and slate/black iPhone 5S varieties.

Both the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C are expected to debut at an iPhone event held in September.

I now like the champagne colour.....Wasn't sure about it and thought at first it would look too "Bling" but it's actually quite understated.....Not too keen on the 5C though, but in countries where cost is a major factor, I think Apple will probably sell these in high volume...introducing the Iphone to a new customer base who will then be customers for other Apple products...smart move.

A screenshot from the video. Isn't this an NFC antenna?

Not sure what you mean, you think they will say 'we don't offer black because it's Pro color'? If they wanna say that on the stage, so be it. ;)

Blue looks mighty good. Loving the HTC-ness in the design or you could argue it's simply a flatter, sleeker iPhone 3G.

Wtf so the white tops already in 2 combination....so lost for imagination...i think the gold should have his own combination of color

From what i can tell from the first minute or two of te vid its stil just the shell of the champ colored iphone.... Didnt we see this already? This aint news anymore! Imo. Is someone come with a finished iphone champ BEFORE announcement. Now thT be news... Imo you can dress a woman didfferent everytime, does nt change the fact its still the same woman. (A little thought-up metaphor)

No one is forcing you to own an iPhone (or a Mac for that matter).

You with life size Ive poster beside your bed again. Had another Ive explicit dreams today and now you'r mad because they are not real?

Yeah roll your eyes kid (only girls do that....guess what that makes you).

I've been a big fan of Apple since way back when, but their innovation since Jobs' death has been extremely LAME. I sold my stock back at $612 a share, but have to say that I'm glad I don't own another drop of it at this point. If the biggest boon that this new iPhone 5S has is a bigger processor, higher rez camera, and fingerprint ID, then Houston, we have a problem.

Goes to show you how much Ive and other high paying exec are overrated. Jobs really made them look good. But some members of this forum with Ive poster over their bed cant realize this.

still suck

then don't buy one. your problem is solved.

Then you should know by now they do a two year, tick-tock product design cycle. if the annual improvements aren't enough for you (and nobody at apple expects average people to upgrade annually) what more do you want? flying cheeseburgers coming out of the screen?! it's a cell phone.

If you look at say Audi, they actually advertise most of their models in white/silver. It's a very 'modern' color combo.
Yes, very!

Why keep people saying modern all the time? What is modern about Windows 8 Modern UI? Exactly nothing! Someone said to me, I should stop complaining about iOS 7 icons, because they were modern design and I should accept the inevitable direction for the future.

Since when did the Apple crowd stopped to care about better design and switched over to modern design? Just to be different for the sake of novelty? There was a good reason the iPhone only came in black and white.

Because these two are non-colors, neutral to all other colors. It was to deemphasize the phones body and emphasize what was happening on the screen. With iOS 7 and iPhone 5C we are going in the opposite direction.

The UI is hiding behind all white and thin text and the hardware is attracting more and more attention with its bright and colorful phone shell. People will be distracted from what really is important and usability will suffer.

The best colors for everything that doesn't need attention all the time are black, white and silver/gray. And that has always been the case. It's not some modern design trend. Its how the visual cortex of the brain works.

You're not really surprised that all of a sudden plastic is great, are you? :D

I hope you are not for one moment even considering the possibility of fans changing their mind based solely on what Apple ends up producing.

No, I won't have it.

I'm sure people think independently and will stick to their opinions, shun such a plastic product as has been said over the years, irrespective of what Apple produce, and not simply buy it like mindless sheep.

No, it's going to fail I'm sure.

;)

Interesting. I was looking at the home button too and wondered if this was real deal. The home button is missing the ubiquitous inner white square.
Of course, the white square would hinder the also rumored finger print sensor beneath the home button and so it is gone. This makes it even more legit. Remember when people thought the iPhone 4 leaks were fake because of the inexplicable gaps in the metal band? Turned out they had a purpose.

The white bands at the top and bottom of the champagne colored phone ruin it. The backplate should be one solid champagne color.

just mill marks.

RE: the plastic iphone. the 5C is actually the first iphone i've been excited about in a long time and the first time i'd actually consider something besides a black one.

apple is doing two things here: the champagne color elevates the metal iphone to a new level of 'elite' while the plastic color phones will appeal to a huge segment of the market (me included) that don't need to snob it over people with their phone. i've had no desire what-so-ever in the hard edged, fragile 5 or 5S, so the 5C is just what i've been waiting for. can finally move on from my 4.
