The video really highlights how beautiful the phones are. Like high tech jewelry. The blue plastic one looks great too.

Very happy Apple continues to make black devices. I have never once wanted any of their "colors" for the phones and iPods.

----------

Apple will never make a plastic phone.
I know. I've heard it said on these forums so many times again and again.
Plastic is junk, they will never use such a material and diminish their quality image.

;)
iPhone 3G & 3GS were plastic.

Lame Lame and more Lame...

I've been a big fan of Apple since way back when, but their innovation since Jobs' death has been extremely LAME. I sold my stock back at $612 a share, but have to say that I'm glad I don't own another drop of it at this point. If the biggest boon that this new iPhone 5S has is a bigger processor, higher rez camera, and fingerprint ID, then Houston, we have a problem.

Leak implies Apple does not want this info out there. Are we still at a point where we think these are not sanctioned by Apple and disguised as leaks?

No. It's just free advertising of Apple future products. The techheads who are into the rumour scene know what they have to save up for and the rest of the public (who don't see the rumours) buy the old stock so it can run down before the new product is released. All works well for Apple.

yay! another post about the 5S/C...

now where are the Mac rumors???

MacRumors is a brand (according to the staff here) that has diversified beyond just Mac Rumours. So the name is not an accurate description of the website's coverings anymore.

People want a gold looking iPhone.

Only £10 million.
And lots of other websites are doing this too. So the demand is out there.

You're not really surprised that all of a sudden plastic is great, are you? :D

Why would anyone want to upgrade from 5 to 5S? I hope they have some kick ass features planned with the new phone.

The design and fashion world disagree with you. Gold & White is used all throughout both industries.

I understand they did it on iPod Touch front but the back is not 2-tone cover so it can be in any color regardless of white front.
Apple did it right with iPhone 5: Slate on black and Silver on white which are in close family color wheel. Now gold on white is not close family in color wheel and not contrast either. Apple is very good with color scheme and I'll be surprised if this is coming: gold on white. If Gold/white then should be gold/black too.

Gold all on my phone gold all on my watch??? Oh wait I dont wear a watch. I just am bored with black and white...two of my least favorite colors.

LOL, you'd be surprised how many men will buy it. I remember when the first white iPhone was released. Every news article, blogs and forums swore up and down that it would only appeal to women. I see more guys with white iPhones than I can begin to count on a daily basis. Myself included. :)

I never had a white iPhone until the 5 came out. My initial reason was that it might not show the scratches that supposedly plagued the slate version. But now I find that the display when viewing sites with the white background (like MR) blends in with the bezels and actually makes it easier on my eyes. Not sure if it actually makes a difference, but it seems to.

Black faceplates on the C might look strange. I figured they'd be white like the colored iPods.

The more they make ahead of time, the more leaks there will be. There's nothing Apple can really do about that short of announcing it months in advance, which they'll never do.

Well they did for the Mac Pro...

It would be interesting if Tim Cook did in fact manage to double down on secrecy and flooded rumor land with elaborate Apple produced fakes to throw everyone off the scent.

I would imagine doing exactly that would be just one part of their new security protocol.

For those struggling to figure out the secrecy issue, well let's see, 100's of thousands of workers putting out 10's of MILLIONS of phones, what could possibly go wrong in keeping it secret?

Why do people like you need to fill in every Apple news discussion thread with their tiresome vapid whining? If Apple released a rainbow unicorn that lays golden eggs - you would still find it "lacking direction and worrisome".

A unicorn, which presumably is a mammal, that lays eggs (nevermind the color), is the very definition of "lacking direction". So yes, thanks for stating the obvious in your failed attempt to be clever.

If you find this year's major iPhone release to be something exciting, then I'm happy for you.
