coming in the fall.

I think the top of the line new mini will give a

quad core

usb3

ssd

2 t-bolts

a discrete gpu.

I also think they will bring it to market 45 to 60 days sooner then this comes out.

Would be a possibility if Mac Mini didn't come in launch of ML, but i would like remove this blueray player of VisionX. By the way, where it's possible buy it and have any price expectation?

not sure of price but this company sells them.

this model is in stock. but it is the older one and not worth the money

http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=MB-V3D137B

Thx for link this older model, but with Ivy's Bridge launch im not interested in builds with old processors more less i3. I would like a i7 like a 3770k and a good dedicated GPU, doesn't necessarly need be TOP HIGH END GPU. If build could be thinner without optical drive, would be great.

Sometimes i think in get a Mac Mini (Mid 2011 Model) now with i7 processor, but have a huge doubt because this upgrade's rumor.

Yesterday, i took a look in brazilian apple store and thinking buy mid 2011 version with i7 processor, but estimated time is showing 3-4 weeks, then its better wait ML's launch.

Online stores in Canada and USA are showing in stock still

Wish they would hurry up and update the mini :D

i know you can upgrade to SSD but it's expensive.I'm talking about the standard models having SSDs like the recent MBPR not the build to order options.

Stand corrected. Talk about expensive from Apple. I believe even if the standard models come out with SSD options they will still command a higher price which is a shame since you can get one much cheaper, but a hassle to install one, at least for me it would be. :(

It would be nice if an SSD was standard but since the MBP, specifically the 13" doesn't have a standard SSD I doubt that the updated Mini will. They seem to have similar hardware. Just IMHO.

yeah but the 13' MBP with Retina Display will come out later this year, i think....i don't think SSD will be in the next standard models of Mac Mini but definitely in the ones after the next one lol.

let's say the next models will come out next month, i can wait for a year for the ones will come out july 2013 with the high end standard model priced at $799 with 8GB and 512GB SSD.:D

As it stands, a majority are voting for a late July release. While I hope for that as well, I think the numbers reflect wishful thinking more than any realistic expectation. Apple has been dragging their feet lately with updates, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them squeeze a few more months' life out of the current Mini.

BTW, I just got my employer (Federal Gov't) to approve the purchase of a Mini (it will be the only Mac in my office), so I am waiting for the update to place the order. Excited about bringing my Mac experience to work!

This wouldn't make sense at all. First and foremost, it was wishful thinking back in march, but now it's in line with the usual upgrade cycles. Moreover, last year, the Mac Mini came out together with OS X Lion, so it's very probable to update it together with ML. After all, it gives them even more press for the release of both.

And last but not least, all parts are available now. Even the high end NVidia chips guessed to be used in future iMacs have almost no shortages anymore. So no reason to wait longer. Don't forget that the next generation of Intel chips is already on it's way. When they update the Mini in the fall, they can't wait longer than 6 months for the next update. Haswell is going to be MUCH faster than Ivy Bridge, so they can't wait to update their Macs after the release of these chips.

I'm hoping the Mini and iMac are release along with Mountain Lion, Ivy Bridge, USB3 and new GPU. Maybe some more RAM and bigger HDD/SSD on top models.

Why doesn't OS X just have an application that allows a user to create a boot USB (or DVD) from within OS X. Maybe a separate TAB in Disk Utility? It would make life easier even if the boot USB created only works on the Mac that made it.

Because it's not necessary anymore since all new Macs can reload their OS online via the restore partition.

Of course it doesn't make sense. That's the point. But it also doesn't make sense that all the parts necessary for an iMac update are available and have been for some time, yet.....no iMac update.

Yes but some may need or want a USB/DVD copy, especially if you have a large network. You don't want to DL it 20 times! But I guess then you just go and buy the USB copy from Apple?

Nope, there's a legal way of making a USB drive with OSX yourself. Just google for it, there are plenty of how-to's.

You get the feeling Apple doesn't want you to do it

Not that most users should or would ever need it.

Not holding my breath any more.

Yep the 2012 Mini will be released by mid-end July. Ivy Bridge, Intel HD 4000 graphics and USB 3.0. The one question is if the high end version will offer an Nvidia GPU. I am guessing/hoping yes.

Well, what do you know....it's August 12th and no new Mac mini in sight.:(:mad::apple:
