Next Apple TV's Chip Revealed in Latest Leak

The next Apple TV 4K will be equipped with an A19 or A19 Pro chip, according to evidence in Apple's code uncovered by MacRumors contributor Aaron Perris. In particular, the device's model identifier points towards the A19 generation of chips.

Accordingly, the next Apple TV would have 8GB or 12GB of RAM, up from 4GB in the current 2022 model with the A15 Bionic chip. Other rumored upgrades for the next model include Siri AI support, an Apple-designed N1 wireless networking chip with Wi-Fi 7 support, and a revised Siri Remote.

Spec upgrades will be nice but an update on anything new surprise software wise in the future would be nice, Otherwise its just a spec update for the sake of it.

Probably just the A19, but I guess it depends on what they have a bigger stockpile of binned chips of. The current ATV uses an A15 with one of the efficiency cores disabled so they could do the same here.

True, but I hope they fix the current limitation where, if you have an ethernet cord plugged in, WiFi is completely unavailable as a fallback.

Good, the chips previously rumored were just setting this new generation up to have a very short life span compared to the other HD and 4K devices.

A17 Pro —> 8GB RAM. , A19 —> 8GB RAM . If Apple TV had shipped more than year ago that was a better option. No with upgrades or CPU/NPU/GPU/fixed function decoders along with standard RAM size it isn’t as necessary.

Apple has got a much higher volume product now to send AnPro chips to ( Mac NEO) so AppleTV doesn’t have to be a consumer.


Depending on home much local LAN ‘Home Hub AI/ML’ wants to enable could have both A19 and A19 Pro models where the more expensive did more locally. ( more than simple TV duties. ) .
