Um....either you don't know what dpi means, or you are expecting a 1" tall screen on the next iMac?The thing about high-DPI screens is that it needs high-DPI source. If your iMac has a resolution of 1920(x2) by 1080(x2), that's a lot of dots per inch.
Made out of retinas?2012 MacBook Pros will get Retina OLED displays.

Did someone tell you that? I mean, we all know you would never touch a Mac, so I always wonder how you can discuss how they work. Ooh, maybe looking over a low-end user's shoulder? You know, the kind that don't actually learn anything about their computer?Isn't that always the problem? Windows Media Center will do what you want - but you have to tell it what you want. Apple stuff, on the other hand, tells you what you want. No setup, but no option to tell it that you don't want the default.
You can already do this if you want. I do all of that except the touchscreen remote, since I prefer tactile buttons. If this will run on an iMac then it will run on a Mac Mini that I can plug into the TV I already own. I could run the touch interface from my iPad or iPhone "remote" Why would I want to by a new TV?
