Why are you surprised? Happens all the time.
I guess, but I'm assuming that iOS 5.1 is only a minor update to address the ongoing battery issues.

i always thought the 4S was a "plan b" so to speak..i think apple had almost every intention of a redesigned iphone but who knows maybe jobs was so hands on that with him getting sicker it put a speed bump in the plans..
thats why i am on the side of the next iphone coming much quicker than the normal turn around time, june at the latest!
Hey Apple, I want to have the ULTIMATE big screen phone! Can you just build a 9.7inch screen to it? That would be awesome for browsing. I find 5" is still too small.
...oh wait, I have that already. Its called the iPad![]()
And Android devices aren't marred with the same problems ? Tell that to my flagship Galaxy Nexus, just don't call me on it as I currently won't be able to hear you.... Or text me as it often crashes out of the messaging app....
why would there be code for the next iPhone?
in iOS 5.1?
i would think it would only show up towards the end of the iOS 5, just before iOS6 betas
oh come on we all know its coming a new phone but prob in 12 months so whats the hurry !
apple engineers should put in iphone7,2 just to screw with us :d
The sooner the better. After Apple mucked up the 4 & 4S, I don't give a flip what they call it just get it done.
I should have never sold my 3GS, that was a far better phone.
Apple doesn't care, but if they did they'd be embarrassed with Antennagate, followed by batterygate. Two phones in a row with a laundry list of problems.

I'm a little shocked that we're seeing references to the new iPhone so soon after the 4S.
I personally wouldn't mind having a five inch phone. I've had the chance to use a 4.5'in screen and it felt so much better on my eyes then the iPhone screen. Not that I have any vision problems or anything, but when I switched back to my iP4s screen it felt like I was straining my eyes.
I don't get why all of these comments were downranked so much. Such an odd hive we've become.
My ideal would be a 4" screen *and* a less fragile phone (I don't generally drop my phones and don't like cases). An aluminum back as previously mooted would be what I would like.

I would be very surprised if Apple drops the glass sandwich. I remember reading about patents that apple submitted for incorporating solar cells at the back of the phone, maybe not with the iPhone 4(s) or even the iPhone 5(s), but it is something that Apple has been at least toying with.
The iPhone 4 is the iPhone 3,1, but it's not called the iPhone 3, is it?Next iPhone will be iPhone 5,1.
Next iPhone may be called iPhone 5.
iPhone 5,1; iPhone 5. Sounds like a safe bet people. Just because it's literally the sixth gen iPhone doesn't mean anything.

Have a feeling this one's coming sooner rather than later.

Holiday Constraints on 4S production.
1. Samsung holding back A5's?
2. Less A5 production as Samsung ramps up A6 production?
3. Production capacity being rapidly shifted to have new products announced in March. April ship?
4. None of the above. Just a rumor?
2 & 3 would be the selection.![]()
Perfect for those who feel comfortable leaving their iPhone outside lying upside down for hours on end!
