Too bad they are apparently going to screw up on the two really major areas of interest for anyone looking for a 'Pro' machine. That is - keyboard and battery. Making it more thin would mean they probably go with the useless excuse of a keyboard they stuck in the 12" machine and also an even smaller battery - as if the current one wasn't struggling as it is.

My only remaining hope is that they make some MacBook OldFart model that is actually twice as thick as the current one and has a real keyboard. I'd finally have a machine I can actually use instead of just briefly check emails and shut it down quickly so it won't run out of battery. Oh, but it looks so beautiful on the coffee table - and that's all that matters apparently. :(

the new MacBook Pro will be "the most significant upgrade ever undertaken by Apple."

Got the message? It's clear and loud, and the source is reliable. Give Apple the benefit of doubt, they deserve it, and they've earned it.

To complain behind a keyboard is so much easier.

After their latest fails - sorry, but no. Their macbook 12 was a significant 'upgrade'. Which meant you got a mediocre machine nobody in their right mind would want to use but it looks so cute. And it comes in rose gold. Who cares if it has less battery life than any device on earth and a keyboard that's the first invention ever to feel worse than the iPad etc on-screen keyboard. Significant upgrade my ass.

If they were serious about making a significant upgrade to a pro machine they'd double the battery life and make it more rugged. Thinning it out and removing most of the connectivity IS NOT THAT. And yes, I do believe that's exactly what they are going to do.

You're way off. Check out today's news about the Macbook market reception.

LOL thank god Apple doesn't listen to everything they could read on the internet!

Ive got a Macbook and prefer the keyboard over my 2013rMBP. Its also got better battery life than my MBP. Go figure.

I'm a "pro". What i want in the new rMBP that would make me upgrade from my 2013 model is if its lighter, thinner and faster. I bought this Macbook because my MBP was too heavy and bulky to be constantly lugging around. The MBP stays in one place for when i need the power. The MB goes everywhere with me. Bring out a new 15" MBP thats less weight than the current 13"rMBP, with a reduced bevel and faster than the current crop and id gladly go back to having one computer instead of 2.

MB keyboard is fine once you get used to it. In fact the old MBP style is all spongy and cheap in comparison.

I am ready - just take my money!
I'm due for a refresh on my work MBP in February so I'm watching this with interest, but the mention of USB-C makes me fear that the new generation will be crippled like the pointless 12" Macbook. If the thing comes out with no Thunderbolt ports I'm going to the nearest Apple store and belting the first hipster in a blue shirt I encounter.
