next MBP 15; better screen res?

Customers lost over upping the resolution is worth gaining new customers welcomed by a normal resolution rather than a substandard one like they currently use.


I with they just offered a choice.

Funny you mention this. Apple has never had me (and several others I know) as a 15" customer, solely because of the poor 1440x900 resolution. 1680x1050 (or higher) is a must, in my book at least.

exactly. Two years ago I considered getting a 15" mbp but the high price and low res resulted in me purchasing a Dell inspiron 1520. Now I'm once again considering a mac, and budget is not as much of a consideration. But the low screen res is likely to stop me purchasing once again. That is, unless there's a relatively powerful 13" model so that I can plug into an external display.
