wtf i thought 199 € was already bad enough

http://es.babelfish.yahoo.com/trans...en-a-movistar.html&lp=es_en&btnTrUrl=Traducir[/QUOTE]

Yahoo has never been a good translating tool.

I paid 79 euros for a 32gb 3GS with premium data plan and 9 euros calling when it came out! (now I would get it for free) the high prices you see are for users that choose 200Mb data plan, and 9 euros in calls!!! hence the high phone price!

Take into account that I also get free unlimited WIFI ( I live next to the headquarters of Movistar in Gran via :D ) although I cannot get service in my apartment I do get free WIFI in the center and in airports and train stations if needed.

I also get FREE 3G on my iPad with a 5GB per month limit. I pay 680 euros a year and what seemed to be a bad deal Movistar has made it right by giving it's existing iPhone customers free 1 year 5GB data plan for iPad with free SIM and activation fee!!!!

This is pretty cool of MoviStar to do. I wish more corporations would use Twitter this way.

To loosely translate the tweets the second one asks what if the date is not guranteed do you still want to know or should we wait until its a firm date?

The last one says by an overwhelming vote, if there are no delays, issues with stock or other issues the phone will be release July 28th, not even Jobs knows this :)

Not 100% true. The last part says that Jobs doesn't even know what the PVP will be. PVP means Precio Venta al Público = Price for sale to the public. In no way does it imply that Steve Jobs doesn't know the release date.

The newness of the iPhone has worn off now. The wait has been too long for an impulse buy and all these problems are making the phone super not appealing now. I guess I'll stick to my 3GS for now.

Damn I'm looking forward to getting it.

My 3GS costed $219 with a 6 month contract (costed $110 Per month):
- 300 minutes calling
- Free SMS and MMS
- Unlimited 3G at 7.2mbps with tethering

Hope it will be around that price. It's a damn good offer. And after 6 months, the monthly price is lowered to $50 with same features.

You're right, there's a coma in there so the Job reference is specifically regarding the PVP.

I originally took it to mean that the whole tweet was a secret they were sharing with their twitter followers and the part about Jobs at the end as a joke to emphasis how secretive they were being.

Still pretty cool that MoviStar is using twitter in this way instead of just spamming their followers with lame press release tweets.

Also, I'm pretty sure Jobs/Apple know both the release date and the PVP for the iPhone on MoviStar.

I agree... I would have made room financially to buy one if we had them on release day.... since there is so much of a delay the "fun" of buying the product on release day as worn off... I think my wife and I will now wait for the next one before we upgrade.... the 28th is my birthday tho....

not exaclty.. at the end it says that not even Jobs himself knows the final retail price (PVP)

Apple is really screwing this one up !!!

They can't even make enough to meet demand in the United States, and they're going to do this ??? Doesn't make sense.

Apparently Steve Jobs skipped class on the day that they were learning supply and demand. When demand increases, increase the price. I would gladly pay $299 for a 16gb iPhone 4 at an Apple Store right now. Hello Steve. You have customers here in the United States that are willing to pay you a premium for your product. Hello??? Anybody in there???

I guess my countdown in my sig was moreorless on target :) From a call I made to my telco in Australia, they're gonna make their first shipments available to existing business customers first. Good thing I'm in that boat :)

makes perfect sense! Apple has customers outside of the USA! who pay HIGHER PRICES for its goods... makes perfect sense to me :p

2 weeks have gone by since the release and people are crying already… in 2 months the supply problem will be solved and iPhones will be in every corner

have your money ready!:apple:

How long can they wait?

There is less than 20 days to the release date. I thought the date should be announced at least 20 days in advance - or how long time before release can they wait?

14 days in adcance so you can wait 7 days until you can reserve it over the internet or at your local carrier shop...

I just got word that the Dutch store got the iPhone 4 today. Checking... yep. It's up there.

Update: And pulled again.

Well the dk site says that the iPhone 4 is available now where as all other sites I have seen say coming soon. Odd
