While the iPhone 7 Plus has a dual-lens camera, only the wide-angle lens supports optical image stabilization. However, that could change next year.

In a research note obtained by MacRumors, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo maintains his belief new dual-camera iPhone models in 2017 will support dual optical image stabilization. Kuo believes Apple will redesign the telephoto lens to support the feature in addition to existing auto focus functionality.Kuo said Apple's rumored 5.1"-5.2" OLED iPhone and a new 5.5-inch iPhone with a traditional LCD display will feature dual cameras with dual optical image stabilization, while a new 4.7-inch model with an LCD display is expected to retain a single-lens camera, also with optical image stabilization.

Kuo expects Apple supplier Largan Precision to remain the exclusive provider of 6P and telephoto lens for the trio of new iPhones.

Wait wtf? The 28mm is the only one that has IS? Image Stabilization is far more important on telephoto lenses, where every micro jitter is magnified. I understand that the 28mm is the default, but seriously that is bogus

I've found the tele lens to be good in bright light but very noisy compared to the wide angle in low light. I really wish it was much better and a larger sensor with a different lens design might be possible. I get the feeling it's the same sensor with a lens not matched very well to it.

People saying the pixel is better have no idea of the aggressive HDR going on and personally i find the images nasty looking especially anything with movement. The video stabilisation on the pixel is vomit inducing and janky.

Well, duh. I'd hope so. Ugh. I'm getting frustrated with Apple's predictability and apparent lack of drive to truly innovate. This sort of thing shouldn't be a hallmark feature that makes the phone better, this should be an expected feature that is just a footnote mention. Maybe they are and we just don't know it, but Apple needs to shift their focus, imo.
[doublepost=1479706493][/doublepost]Here I thought I had image stabilization on my iPhone 7 Plus, now it's only on one lens, come on Apple. I went from a iPhone 6 to the iPhone 7 Plus I'm glad I did, but still need to get use to the size and weight.

While I love the idea of the second camera, the quality is fairly low on the zoom lens. Between the slower lens, small sensor and lack of OIS there are few cases where I have enough light to get a great shot. I basically need to be outdoors at noon on a bright sunny day (only a slight exaggeration).
That said, I feel Apple would be better off scraping OIS and going the Pixel route. Use the space from the OIS frame to house a larger sensor. Even without the software tricks Google uses, a larger sensor would buy you the same 1 stop improvement that OIS provides.
But what if they tend to develop a device with DSLR quality?
