Some people will really appreciate that variable aperture.
Given the sensor size, it is unlikely to make any real difference to anyone.
A one inch sensor would be a nice addition as well if we ever get one. Maybe Apple is holding off on that until the iPhone 19 Pro or 20 Pro?
You seriously don’t understand camera optics if you think a one inch sensor would be used in an iPhone.

Apple must put in a new primary sensor. The current sensor hasn't been upgraded in 3 years.
I have a feeling with the upgrade from 12MP to 48MP with the telephoto and other upgrades, a new sensor will be needed. Maybe the 8K capable SONY IMX903? It’s been out for a while so maybe Tim can now get the price per unit he wants for it?

So 4 years with the same Dynamic Island and no under screen Face ID. Shameful 4 years is too long for the same cut out. Innovate plz
None of Apple’s major competitors in the US have under screen facial recognition besides Samsung. Even then, you need to spend nearly $2000 on their Z Fold to get it, and it can be tricked with a photo.

Remember, Apple’s trying to put a camera and a bunch of sensors behind pixels. They don’t exactly have physics on their side here.

Variable aperture would be pointless. We need wider apertures on all the lenses. That be significantly more valuable.

New sensor sounds interesting though.

The rest is meh.

The under screen Face ID rumors are always inaccurate. I wouldn't get my hopes up for that happening on iPhone 18.

These rumors are better for shareholders, not end users.
🤦‍♂️Have you not realised that shareholders are what Apple lives for these days? All these rumors come suspiciously after reports of Apples failed AI implementation.

It wouldn't suprise me if Apple are throwing all these leaks out there..in order to stamp out the "Apple Intelligence" negativity.

I miss the days of actual innovative new product releases. Apple appears to work at a snails pace these days.

Meanwhile the actually promised features for the iPhone 16 lineup aren’t even rumored to come out anymore 🤣

Will most likely stick to my 15 Pro until 2026. Happy with it, might change the battery later this year.
iPhone 18 Pro could be a reasonabale upgrade then.

With the extra processing power, it should be able to support multiple users, so could we please get multiple users? Thank you

You are both "correct". Actual sensor sizes are about 2/3 of the advertised size. A "1 inch sensor" is closer to 16mm diagonal size, where an inch is 25.4mm.
Typical of manufacturers to “enhance” the specifications in their marketing. Anyway, let’s hope we get a new sensor with the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max/Ultra and not have to wait until next year.
