I'm sure they'll find a way ;)

Remember; 'nobody wants to watch videos on their ipod', 'nobody reads books anymore', nobody wants tablets smaller than 10" etc

Yeah, they'll market it in a way that makes it look like they're the first ones to do it right. Maybe they'll use more gestures or something. Or perhaps they'll keep the C as the 4-inch iPhone and add a larger one.

With my new Nexus 7 I just don't see any need for another nexus device. Having the Nexus 7 and Nexus 5 would be just too similar.

I totally agree. How stupid would I look making calls and texting on a Nexus 5 when I can do this on my Nexus 7.......

I can use my iPhone 5 one handed but I still have to shuffle my grip to reach the top of the screen at times. And I have big hands. So the super easy one handed use theory went out of the end window with iPhone 5 IMO.

Ya I totally agree. One-handed use for most people isn't that important anymore. But even on Android there are needs to hit opposite corners.

I think the biggest confusion comes in when people say one handed use. Do they just mean using the phone for basic operations with one handed? Being able to do everything one handed? Or being able to do everything one handed without the need to adjust grip? That question is never really clarified with talking about one handed use.

I always took one-handed use to mean not having to constantly adjust your grip on a device but that's just me. The only phones I've had real trouble holding was the Galaxy Note, to say nothing of the Megas and Z Ultra.

A 5" display in the dimensions of the Nexus 4 will probably be as easy to handle as an iPhone 5 - that's my bet anyway.

Even a Nexus 4 with a 4.7" screen already requires more grip readjustment than an iPhone 5/5s. I wouldn't say a 5" screen requires just as little readjustment as a 4" screen...

I think a good definition of one-handed use is 'can I use the phone with one hand on crowded public transportation while the bus/train is in motion'? I have to take a bus to work every day and I know I'm not alone. It is in this situation more than any other where I regret the increased screen size of my galaxy nexus. Don't get me wrong I manage. But I wouldn't want to use a phone that made this completely impossible (and I'm not sure exactly what size that will be).

what ? lmao

one is a tablet the other is a phone. Want me to elaborate more?

If you guys want to have the Nexus 5, 7 and 10 then go ahead... They may be different devices (tablets, smartphones, etc) but the experience will be identical every time you go from one device to the other... It's redundant.

I agree. That's why I don't have a Nexus 7. I ended up buying one, but I returned it because it just seemed like it would be redundant. That point was raised in this thread last week.

My point exactly.

ok... isnt that the point?

Or are you saying that you prefer syncing files between a Windows pc, a blackberry phone and Ipad?

Why does apple make an Ipod touch if there is an iphone which does the same thing?

your argument is invalid.

I think the Nexus 7 offers a much better gaming experience compared to the Nexus 4. Dual speakers and higher resolution on a larger screen make it much better.

Plus the screen size, thickness, and weight make it an ideal option for reading. A 4.7" screen is not at all ideal for reading books or long articles.

Sure, they run the same software. That just makes for an easy transition. But make no mistake, they offer different user experiences.

random, but has it been confirmed that it is the nexus 5 and not nexus 4 again? I know it was up for debate and then out of nowhere it just shifted to nexus 5 for certain.

It hasn't been confirmed. There have been leaks implying both, but nothing definitive.

You know what's a happy coincidence about the HTC one and one handed use?

Now that you can long press the home button to bring up the menu action it's easier to use one handed. All those on screen menu buttons that are on the opposite corners now don't need to be reached. Just long press home and it pops up.

Kind of sweet. I almost never have to reach up to the opposite corner (not that it's a major problem to).

PS. Still want a nexus 5 though :)

Would you be able to do that with a Nexus 5? Either by default or with some tweak?

As long as the camera improves, I actually prefer LG over moto or Samsung for the nexus.

That way I know it won't be yet another android phone with that AMOLED screen that I despise. There is already a line of such devices from multiple manufacturers, a solid LCD offering wouldn't hurt too.

You are right on your argument too, just as me with mine. I think both arguments are valid.

We are talking about Android devices. They all can sync together. Being a nexus doesn't make them sync better. That's why having a SGS3 and Nexus 7 still works in my case. No need to change the SGS3 for the Nexus 5.

See what I mean?

I'm not talking about syncing between Macs, Windows, iOS and Android. It's just Android we are talking about. I'm not saying it's a bad thing having all nexus devices. I would like that. I'm just saying you are getting the same experience because they are all so similar because of stock android. You don't get exclusive features on any of those devices I think, but if you have a LG G2, SGS4 or HTC One you get some unique features.

I've always said stock android is better than anything else, but that doesn't mean I want two or three device which are exactly the same except for the screen size and that one can make calls.

Had! I no longer own an iOS device. Those I got over the course of years and after I got the iPhone and iPad I never used the iPod again for example. Why? Because I already could do what I needed on the iPad or iPhone. Having the iPod too was redundant. Never used it again. That's my point.

True as well. I think all arguments are valid in this case. Some people like me may find it redundant and others won't.

The weird thing is there is no press invites. Maybe they will just announce them on their site like last year. This would mean 4.4 is not that big of an update.
