The Eagles spanked them 31-17 just a few weeks ago. And that was with Kevin Kolb, not Vick. The way this year is going, this week's champion is next week's goat. I wouldn't crown anyone just yet.

Kolb may not be able to have the huge week like he did with 50 something points like Vick did, but with Vick's lack of even a single passing TD on his last outing, Kolb is actually more consistent. I pretty much expected that though. Vick has a ton of natural talent but without consistency, it won't get him anywhere. Vick reminds me of a long time ago when the Raiders had a very talented, yet inconsistent Todd Marinovich who failed to get a Super Bowl ring us fans thought he would bring us but one who the sports writers expected to become one of the best career quarterbacks of his generation. That guy had amazing natural talent like Vick but his issues with the law and pressure the press put on him was part of his downfall.

It takes a whole team to win, and without any Vick level stars but an 8-2 record, Atlanta is a full team both offense and defense. With six games to go I don't expect a meltdown from them. Without doubt they will make the playoffs and if they end up as the best in the NFC, I wouldn't be surprised one bit.

You do know there were two drops that should have been TDs, right? One by Avant and one by Jackson.

Vick on his best day is as good as anybody in the NFL, and I would put him on a good day with a Manning or Brady, but in his whole career he has shown us he's very hot and very cold.

Unless Vick pulls off a miracle and stays consistent through the rest of the season and then through the playoffs, he won't get the monkey off his back. Until then, he will be that gifted, yet troubled QB who could have been great.

A lot of QBs can have an amazing game, if you remember the Buffalo's Reich in his 30+ point comeback game, but instead of being great one or two games in a season and breaking some sort of record, it's better just to get by with a 10-6 or 11-5 type of season which most people forget, and eventually end up winning the Super Bowl by 3 points. In the end, someone like Tom Brady didn't destroy his SB competitors, but he scraped by with three narrow margin victories. That is consistent though not showy.

Until Vick can at least win one SB, he will be seen as nothing more than a charismatic and talented QB who is great sometimes but lacks the long term dedication to greatness like a Brady, Steve Young, or Peyton Manning.

The Eagles are a good team, no doubt, and yes, the Falcons lost to them
But every team has at least 2 losses, so there is no shame in that
And the Falcons 2 losses have come to Pittsburgh (OT, 1st game) and Philadelphia, not too shabby
The Eagles have lost to Green Bay, Washington and Tenessee

I like the Falcons chances in the Dome with home field
And I think they have the schedule to do it

Liking west coast teams I didn't think I would say this, but good luck, dawg.

It's your season to lose at this point as far as I am concerned. It's not as if you lost to the Cowboys and Niners.

Someone is not watching Vick this year. When in Atlanta, I always looked at him as overrated and inconsistent. This year is different. He's playing like an athletic QB, rather than an athlete who throws the ball from time-to-time. Andy Reid is an excellent QB coach and has Vick playing better than ever. Some games have been better than others, but he has yet to have a bad game. I think jail really had a big impact on this guy as well. It may have been the best thing for him, both personally and professionally.

My top three NFC teams right now in no particular order: Eagles, Falcons, Packers. No matter which of these teams play, I'm taking the home team. I truly believe that right now it is that close. The Giants and Saints are close behind.

The way this season is going, I reserve the right to change my top teams at any time. :D

We may learn a lot this weekend
We get Green Bay at home in the dome

You guys will have to prove it to everybody else. I already believe Atlanta is the real thing.

The NFC in general looks pretty tough this year. The safe thing to say is it's anybody's guess. I have not paid a lot of attention to GB, but they have solid numbers.

We have wins over 3 teams that are 7-3
Baltimore, New Orleans and Tampa Bay (2 of which are Division wins :))

After Green Bay, we still have New Orleans again at home (Mon night)
Tampa Bay in Tampa
Carolina twice :)
and a 5-5 Seattle team on the road

At least we have a working defense. Unlike what Rex wants us to believe.

New York Jets points against - 177
New York Giants points against- 220

New York Jets 8-2
New York Giants 6-4

Now shut up and lets go get a god damn snack. :D

This stretch should tell us a lot about the J-E-T-S
3 out of 4 on the road

If they pull that crap off and win 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 4, guess who you are going to meet in the Super Bowl?

I won't know who to root for.

Atlanta; back when I liked Vick, he he, I wanted to see them win one. Vick ran for 1,000 yards one season there and he's not even their RB! You Tube footage on his running is stunning.

Jets;
I was pulling for them last year and it would be nice to see them get another one.

That would be miraculous indeed
In fact, just going 3-3 in the last 6 will be a challenge

New Orleans
@ Indianapolis
Philadelphia twice
Washington
@ Arizona

If ... and I do say a big if ... Dallas can win on Thanksgiving and then go to Indy and win ... the 3 divisional games left would sure make it interesting for momentum

:D They're 5-0 on the road so far.

You went 5-0 on the road against teams without a winning record:
Miami 5-5
Buffalo 2-8
Denver 3-7
Detroit 2-8
Cleveland 3-7

Let's see how you do against teams with a winning record:
New England 8-2
Pittsburgh 7-3
Chicago 7-3

Come to think of it, you've only played 3 teams with a winning record all year
And you lost 2 of those: Green Bay and Baltimore

:D

On the other hand, the Falcons have played 5 teams that are 7-3
And they have beaten 3 of them and lost 2 on the road
They get another one this week when Green Bay visits (the Jets get another team with a losing record)
And the Falcons will get 2 more when the play Tampa and New Orleans again

Don't get me wrong, I think the Jets have a good team
We just don't know how good yet
Their upcoming stretch will either make or break them

Pats are winning that game. Primetime, MNF, and its Tedy Bruschi night. With extra days to prepare because of the Thanksgiving game.

I still think that the Eagles are the best team in the NFC. Taking a look at their three losses:

Packers (7-3): Kolb started and got injured. Vick came in at the beginning of the 2nd half, and almost brought them back, with an offense that he barely practiced with since Kolb was supposed to be the next big thing in Philly.

Redskins (5-5): Vick got injured early in the game (1st quarter) and Kolb had to play without much practice with the offensive strategy which was tailored around Vick.

Titans (5-5): Kolb is just terrible (Vick injured).

If the Eagles went with Vick from the beginning of the season, they could have legitimately been 8-2 or even 9-1.

Looking forward to the Eagles/Bears game this week.

I'm hoping we are able to take 2/3 in that grouping. I don't think they have any issues playing on the road. Like I said, it didn't seem to bother them last year in the playoffs. And one of those road wins was against a Cleveland team that had just stomped the Saints and the Patriots in the previous weeks. So...

But, as a Jet fan, December is always a scary month! Thursday can be a trap game for them coming off that win on Sunday, and coming before the match-up with the Pats.

We'll just see how it goes. I'm just hoping their defense steps up and closes some games. Although exciting, you can't keep relying on the offense to come up with miracle drives in the last minutes of the game. It will come back and bite you, especially against good teams.

I would say possibly. Vick is a streak player. No passing TDs in most recent game and all of the NFC passing TDs and yards in the previous week. There are two Michael Vicks at work here. :) Sometimes he throws into heavy coverage and gets a completion every time, but other times he fails to see open receivers and doesn't capitalize on it. Luckily, if he decides not to pass for some reason, he can run for a 5-7 yard gain in a situation where other QBs would get sacked for a loss.

Just hope you have the consistent Michael Vick when you need him in the playoffs and hope the inconsistent stuff remains to be ironed out in the remaining season. But it's possible all the kinks are ironed out with the Eagles and they will win all their remaining regular season games and postseason games, too.

It all remains to be seen. I think Atlanta will probably be the king but Philly and the Giants are not quite out of the running yet. And then there's Green Bay and the Bears.

But on the AFC, well that one is anybody's territory. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody in the middle of the pack right now in the AFC goes to the SB.

In the NFC, I pretty much expect one of the leading teams right now to go all the way.

You've said that a few times, but it doesn't tell the whole truth. There were two dropped passes in the end zone and one down the sideline. Without Vick changing a thing, he could have thrown 3 TDs if his receivers held on to the ball. Don't distort the facts.
