To date, I don't think I've still gotten over Ray Bourque leaving the team for the Avalanche.

Meh. History will remember him as a Bruin. At least he was able to get a ring.

Now we just need to bring the cup back to Boston...

And since this is the NFL thread, lets bring the Lombardi back too

Tomorrow:

Baltimore v. Pittsburgh - too close to call and I think it won't be a team beating the other, but rather a team just not showing up, and both teams have shown some weak and inconsistent play during the season.

Green Bay v. Atlanta - Atlanta by 10, maybe more being at the Falcons home

I will be disappointed if the Falcons lose
But I certainly won't be surprised

What does it say about a franchise when a 2nd round playoff game is the "second biggest game in franchise history"?

"I think this is, without question, the second biggest game in the history of the franchise."

Ryan also said the Jets "are going to win" a game he ranks only behind the Jets' 16-7 win over the Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III.

I think the Jets have a pretty good team
The defense is strong, and Revis is solid
The running game is pretty good
But Sanchez is still a question mark

But really, is there a bigger buffoon in the NFL than Ryan at this point?
I'm not saying he can't coach, but his cartoonish behavior boggles the mind
I know some find it refreshing and endearing
But I have to say, I prefer Mike Smith's style

I'm in complete agreement about Ryan. He laid the foundation for all the escalating trash talking that has taken place since the Jets win over Indy, but he is basically deflecting scrutiny and criticism away from his hot-and-cold QB by making it about himself and Bellichick ... after all, everything is a personal battle in Rex's world when it comes to post-season play.

Tomorrow's game most likely will be competitive, but the Patriots should emerge with the "W." If that scenario unfolds, it will be quite an interesting (and perhaps insufferable) press conference that follows. I can hear the litany of excuses already, along with the guarantees for next season.

Lotta love out there for the Packers over the Falcons

I live in a town next to Boston and all I have to say is I'm tired of the hype on the Jets/Pats game. The trashing talking, and such is so over the top.

The problem is, that I'll be traveling tomorrow and I'm hoping that I'll not get sucked up into the traffic which will be flowing into the stadium. The major highways will be a parking lot in the early afternoon, just when I need to drive

Hey Dawg
Hopefully your Falcons will do better today then your Thrashers did last night:D
Peace

So far this Steelers-Ravens game is living up to the hype.

Now let's see if burning both challenges in the first quarter comes back to bite Pittsburgh.

Nice Game ... the Ravens are putting the hurt on Pittsburgh big time.

These Ravens are making a strong statement to go all the way ... even NE should be very concerned with how tough Baltimore is.

If I knew what that meant, I might be less than amused.

Care to enlighten me?
The reason he was suspended for the first 4 games of the season was because he allegedly sexually assaulted a college girl in a bar in Georgia.

I agree....Ravens jumped off to an early lead off of turnovers and amazing field position, but they just couldn't do anything on offense. A couple of huge dropped passes...I'd be pulling my hair out if I was Joe Flacco.

Welcome to Baltimore's offense in a big game. :) Their D isn't bad but couldn't carry the team this time. It all comes down to who has to face the Patriots anyway and nobody stands any realistic chance on the AFC side.

The NFC side is probably all lined up with casualties of Atlanta in their dome waiting to happen. But if somehow GB wins this one, I call it for the Pats to win it all at this juncture. If the Pats lose in the playoffs, then I choose whatever NFC team gets to the Super Bowl to win it all. The NFC side seems deeper this playoff season with more capable teams, but many think its an Atlanta-New England affair as they basically deserve it. But paying dues usually, but not always, pays off in the postseason and we could see the Seahawks in the big game which would really readjust the meaning of postseason and what can happen.

this whole paragraph is complete rubbish :p atlanta and NE in the sb because the basically deserve it??? do you know how ridiculous that sounds??? the teams that deserve it are the teams that WIN
