That's not how Fantasy Football works. You can't change your roster once your players' games start. The tracking is real time through any decent fantasy site (ESPN, Yahoo, CBSSports, etc). Highlights have nothing to do with fantasy, especially within the context of bbeagle's comment about getting some advantage from watching day old games. Fantasy Football has almost nothing to do with actual teams. FF is about individual players. Seeing them the next day does nothing.

Seeing how they play will let you know for the upcoming week on whether to start them or not. More insight.

Seeing them play one week gives me an idea on how a player actually looks on the team as opposed to just some straight up numbers. Everyone knows what Jamaal Charles, Calvin Johnson look like. Seeing actual game play gives you an idea that CJ Anderson actually looks like on the field before the wave hits and you can't get him anymore.

But yeah, thanks for telling me I have no idea how Fantasy Football works. Appreciate the insight and judgement.

I live outside of my teams market so local channels aren't available. And if it's not live, I don't care. Looks like the NFL screwed the pooch again.

Do like me and watch real futbol. I have a close friend whose son is a trainer for Sporting Kansas. They actually won the cup a couple of years ago. Or watch the USA in the gold cup.
It's Sporting KC! LOL, my new coworker is a huge Sporting KC fan. I'm from KC but was living in Springfield when Sporting KC became a thing. As a kid I went to some Wiz (or Wizards?) games at Arrowhead. I remember they even won the cup and hardly anyone noticed. Sporting KC is definitely a bigger thing than the Wizards were back then. Another new coworker loves "futbol" and watches a lot of international and Premier League games. So we've had a lot of soccer type stuff going on in the office lately. A few years ago at my old job I had a boss who was a big Everton fan (he is British) and so we would watch a lot of games and had the 2010 World Cup playing on the HDTV in the middle of the office the whole time. Unfortunately, it's just not as exciting to me as football. Even baseball is pretty unexciting for me until they get into the stretch and post season and every game really counts. Although part of that is probably because I grew up with the Royals my whole life. I'd rather watch LAX or tennis.

Their goals and your goals aren't in line, so they only screwed the pooch in your view.

They are making plenty of money by not providing that option with current guaranteed contracts. Maybe one day it will change.

I always find sports streaming through the Apple TV app just plain sucks. I have MLB TV and NHL Gamecenter and when I launch the apps for a baseball or hockey game it is constantly messing up, even if I have an amazing internet connection. I have tried it as well for NBA with the same results. I mostly launch the app from my phone or iPad, then use Air Play. It is much better that way.

Sports streaming really needs a boost in some ways. Especially going live. There are times when my stream for a hockey game gets almost 2-3 minutes of "on the clock" game time down from the real event, and I end up getting a notice on my phone of a score before I see it. It is mostly with Apple TV, and can be incredibly frustrating. But then again, my Apple TV and most of my friend's Apple TV's have the same issue.

I would buy it. I live in California and am a Titans fan. I don't have regular TV, just streaming services (Netflix, Hulu, HBO). Up to this point the only way I can see a live game is to pick up one of the European or Australian streams, and the quality just isn't there.

And a game isn't just highlights, otherwise why even watch the games just catch Sportscenter on Sunday nights.

Honestly, I think you are the exception to the rule. As a exiled Falcons fan I have to pony up to DirecTV to get Sunday Ticket. I choke on the bill but it's the decision I made to see my team each week. Fine.

If I didn't have access to DirecTV or Verizon's Red Zone, I'd find a sports bar or, yeah, just watch the highlights. I watch the entire game because it hasn't happened yet and the excitement of watching with friends or fans or even friendly rivals. But, honestly, I have no desire to see Matt Ryan make a couple 4 yard passes; 3 and out. And man I'd feel dumb if I watched a replay game where the Falcons were blown out or even lost in the last second. Bigger colossal waste of time than watching live. If he makes a touch down, sure, I want to watch a replay of the sequence.

I do catch some of the games at a sports bar, but when your team had the season mine did last year.... you really don't want to be out in the crowd :| (How our DB didn't light Ryan up is beyond me.)

I honestly may be the exception, but I love watching my team. I still watched all of the games last season, even the 14 losses on NFL rewind. I like to see where the mistakes are coming from (not that I can do a damn thing about it) but would rather bitch on the forums about the guy that blew it rather than the whole team as a whole.

Here in Europe, Game Pass is live, every game, all season long. I don't get why they don't match it in the US...

In the UK at least, the games broadcast live on Sky are blacked out from Game Pass for about 24 hours, which of course includes all the play off games. However, it's still good value if you follow a particular team.

The NFL needs to get off their high horse and start offering real broadband experiences... NBA and others have been offering this for YEARS!

The NBA (and MLB for that matter) are in a completely different position then the NFL, the NFL markets a weekly, full day event ~17 times (notwithstanding the shell of its former self MNF', the poor TNF lineup and occasional play on Saturday games), receiving nearly all their revenue from national network and cable broadcasters.

The NBA and MLB recieve a much, much higher amount of revenue from local broadcasters and offer far more, less individually meaningful games. Besides them all being sports they're very very different businesses.

Rather than promoting some niche sport, they should focus on the really exciting stuff.
Who cares for American Handball anyway?

Now if they had live football, that would be interesting!

Why blame Direct TV? They were the highest bidder. Blame the one selling the service and making it exclusive.

Yup, blame the NFL for wanting to make the most money it can. And after that, blame the owners, personnel, vendors, and players for wanting to make as much money as they can. Blame the advertisers who advertise trying to sell their stuff as much as possible. And then blame yourself for wanting to watch the games and support the system.

And, oh wait, I bet you don't want to make as much money as possible for your family with the goods or services you sell, right? Sheesh! No one's holding a gun to your head to watch the NFL. Go to a park instead. Enjoy nature and hugging trees. o_O

Welp...as long as they don't cancel the internet version of Sunday ticket, looks like i'll have to stick with that. I just mirror my desktop screen to apple TV which doesn't always make for the best experience (laggy/choppy) but it does keep me watching live games. i have no time to be watching games the day after they air..nor can i avoid all news of what happened in a game until after i'm able to free up time to watch it.

NFL doesn't get their fans. Somehow we keep giving them more and more money every year. They are lucky the product is generally as good as it gets when it comes to sports.

Yea..the NFL is to blame for the Direct TV deal. They're the one's afraid to end huge, exclusive deals. They would make plenty opening it up to everyone. I would do $99 a year to follow a team (live games) but nothing more. Also, my happiness of the NFL "product" is directly related to how good my team does but I have to pay the same for it no matter which way the year goes. That's crazy when you think about it. But we all accept it. Imagine buying an iPhone not knowing if it was going to work or not—without the ability to get a new one if it fails. That's why there should be a lower cap on this thing called NFL season.

How much is Sunday Ticket? Do you pay monthly or for the season?

DTV extended their contract through 2022 for about $1.5 billion annually.

Dammit all.

I want to pay by the game/month/or season for particular sports leagues to watch live and on demand on any device I have, depending on what I feel like watching and have time and am able to watch. Is that asking too much?! Probably a little, but I still want it!

Hey, the less non-sports fans have to subsidize televised sports the better. Bring on all the subscription models for sports!
