As much as I hate to admit it, it's probably because Verizon still doesn't have an LTE iPhone and since HSPA(+?) currently owns CDMA. This is why I haven't switched yet.

I bet if the iPhone were LTE Verizon's servers would have suffered substantially more traffic.

I concur - Verizon's pre-order was fast and efficient. I got down on them earlier in the week due to some account issues, but between some friendly assistance from a rep and the smooth pre-order process they have won me back.

It is rare that you hear people saying nice things about carriers. It is almost odd.

Of course, if you really think about it, we're praising them for the minimum level of service, here. It's just that by comparison, that minimum level is outstanding :D

I could not pre-order on Verizon's site and I don't know why. I logged into my Verizon account and selected my phone. When I tried to proceed, it directed me to the "New User" or "Existing Customer" screen. I selected "Existing Customer", put in my username and password and it said it could not process the transaction. I even tried using the Account Owner's username and password and still got the same message.

I had the same issue. The mistake was trying to sign in after the "New User or Existing Customer" screen with My username and password. Then I noticed MyVerizon was logged in with My username and password. So I signed out of MyVerizon, and tried again using the Account Owner's info and it went through. I thought for a second I screwed up and got locked out for to many failed login attempts.

It wasn't very clearly explained that your "Billing Password" is actually separate from your MyVerizon password. I ran into this same issue when I was attempting to check eligibility and ended up calling to resolve.

Keep in mind everyone that nobody has thier phones yet. Doesn't do you any good to have a flawless preorder if you were expecting to get the phone on launch day and end up not getting it until Monday or a week later!

You're a bit late. Rumors are shipping times are being pushed back.

Well according to a lot of people there is very little demand for VZW's iPhone so he should be fine

Just kidding, though obviously you should inquire about this when you talk to an associate.

I alluded to this... I always think of the worst first. :D miserable life it leads to at times, but usually a prepared one.

So I decided to skip the pre-order because no will be home to sign for it. I'll just get when I'm all done with my classes which ends at 2:30 P.M. I live in a small town and do you think I'm taking a risk of not getting it? I talked to people that were at the Verizon iPhone 4 launch and they said there were probably 10-20 people there. How many do you think Verizon stores get?

Come to think of it, I was already logged in under my username when I tried to enter the Owner account credentials. It took me two and a half hours to get my pre-order in on the Apple Store. So much time was wasted.
