Went to Eastern State Penitentiary in Philly yesterday and got some cool pics, I'm especially fond of the red door in the first picture. Night mode is the best.

View attachment 873602Canyonlands National Park in Utah. This photo is a bit grainy given how little light was avail but I loved how it was able to capture the light from the stars so clearly (the Big Dipper was really that visible to the eye as well!)
That is really cool. Did you let the camera do it’s own thing or did you adjust it to take a longer exposure than three seconds? If you were able to put your iPhone on a small tripod, you could get up to 30 seconds of exposure time which would reduce the grain even more. That’s a cool shot of the big dipper though.

I just let it do it's own thing and I didn't have a tripod either, so it was just handheld (3 sec exposure I believe). Pretty amazing things that computational photography can do these days!

Both taken on 11 Pro Max.

First image is what closest represents what I saw with my eye. Near pitch black, couldn’t see anything and could barely make out shapes. Couldn’t really see any colors.

Here is the same area (pitch black almost) with night mode on:

Zero editing. This is seriously more like night vision.

(Running 13.3 b1)

I still want to go outside and test night mode in the wild, but a couple of test shots around the house are very revealing of it's abilities. These scenes were difficult to make out with the naked eye, let alone camera with night mode off.

No NightMode - 3D printed moon nightlight on table, Keurig with blue "empty water" light, Philips Hue light strip at 10%.
