No way, man - I'm always brushing lint off my iPhone silicone case, and it irks me. Good to know the watch bands aren't like that.

Apologies, then. Some of the people in this thread seemed oddly angered by these new Watch bands, so my reaction probably was overly defensive.

I can assure you that Apple's (and presumably Nike's) sport bands do not collect lint like Apple's silicone phone cases (or like knockoff bands made of silicone). I also own one of those iPhone cases and hardly use it, largely for that reason. You'll be very happy with the genuine Apple or Nike sport bands.

If they could only focus as much on fixing that terrible running iPhone app, everyone would be happy...

Exactly. I love how Apple uses "fluoroelastomer." Oh my God, just say "rubber." It's a rubber band. Nothing special about "fluoroelastomer."

And I bet it really does cost 5 cents. But since it has a giant Apple logo on it, people buy it.

Just like Glock guns. They're plastic. But they use "polymer nylon something." Just say plastic.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. I dont own an Apple Watch because I prefer real watches. Bit I do won some great watches including a really fine diving watch and after trying on a handfull of different "rubber" bands I can tell you there is a difference in all those materials.

By the same logic, you're really just a monkey, nothing special about "homo sapiens." Why not just call yourself a monkey?

If you don't want to, or can't, understand the differences, fine. But why get so upset at the people who do?

Everyone does this. It's about making things sound interesting.

For example, what does your resume say? If you want the job, you play up what you've done.

Apple/Nike are just putting their product in the best possible light.

BTW, I checked your profile. You say you're a "playwright". Why didn't you say you're just a "storyteller"? ;)

The first rule in fashion is that your belt should always match your shoes, so I guess Apple is changing the rules. :)

But don't forget that black belts goes with everything.

Can I finance my shoes please? I'll take 24 months at 0% interest. Will I be eligible for an upgrade in 12 months?

I would and indeed have paid that ridiculous amount of money to have a nice sturdy band that wouldn't cause a rash on my arm. I do really like my Gear S2 Sport Watch but the band on it does not like me nor a fellow forum member who has a different model with whatever rubbery Samsung bands are made of. He got a nasty rash he just posted about and I get mild irritation on hot days with my S2. Fortunately I also have an S2 Classic with a much kinder leather band.

I have an "Orchid Grey" S8+ so I am interested in those purplish Nike shoes. It's a lot of money, but I tend to wear my shoes until they fall apart, which sometimes means I get 8 years out of shoes like that. Nikes have held up well for my husband...as in over a decade of use for one pair he recently retired. I don't think I have ever owned a pair of Nikes. I used to wear Reeboks and I currently have $30 Skechers for walking and old Merrills for hiking. I don't run unless something is chasing me--my knees are messed up from autoimmune disease. So for me it's a nice fast waddle. ;)

I still have my Series 1 watch. I might get the purple band for it. I have always wanted a Nike band for the little holes they put in them. It does not take much to amuse me. I have to admit this is the first Apple news that has penetrated my malaise over Apple products. I've been enjoying my S8+ too much. But I still have my trusty 7 Plus working for me daily.

Yes it is all fashion oriented and not tech news. It is what it is. The tech stuff will be coming out before we know it.

I like them. I think they look good. Price is still to high.

Fine more for me!

I'm DEFINITELY going to cop the Blue and Deep blue versions of these!

I'm more skeptical of house the VaporMax shows work from walking to Running and REALLY brisk running with sharp turns! Those tread patterns seem to be low in traction for transitions and worse I heard walking on air pillows means a foot ROLL-OVER maybe possible UNLESS the Flyknit implementation is JUST LIKE Kobe XI Elites before he retired.

Is there an app to replicate the mud, sweat, and tar stains on the band that will be staining the shoes?

Colorware.com can set you up with whatever color AirPods you want. They're not cheap, but if you're an apple user, what is?

If you end up purchasing a Nike band, I think you will find out in comparison to a third-party band, how well it's made. Not only that, the preforated holes actually make your wrist a lot easier to breathe over the regular Flueroastamer bands. It's ideal for physical fitness.

I Wasn't entirely sure what I thought of these bands when They first launched , but they really serve their purpose.

Like I said, I don't run unless something's chasing me, but the thing is, my dog (a greyhound) does like to chase me, so sometimes I DO run in a fenced in field with her and yeah, pillowy soles can cause rollovers on sharp turns. Fortunately I've got freakishly tough ankles to counter the fact my knees are shot, so I've not yet hurt myself. But I don't run that often so I am interested in trying these shoes out for walking. They do seem to be made more for looks than running, but they might surprise everyone.

I go on a modest five mile mixed trail hike/walk next week and wish I could try all this colorful gear out then, but won't have a chance and will make do with what I've already got. I'd like to use my Samsung sport watch but yeah...the band is not going to be comfortable under the California sun. So my original Apple Watch with one of my year 1 issued sport bands will do.

The funny thing about my life is that when I was young and ran around nonstop all day playing tag and climbing huge trees and running through the woods like a deer, I did it all in $3 no-name sneakers or no shoes at all! We had very little money when I was a kid, but feet are free! :D

Bought two third party iPad smart covers (which also include a back plastic shell which Apple doesn't) for $10 each off Amazon.

Yeah and I guarantee they'll be absolute junk as all 3rd party iPad cases are. Even the Apple one's are not great, but they're 10x better than the el cheapos.

It's all been done before. Paul McCartney and Wings (''The band The Beatles could've been''-A. Partridge) wrote Band On The Run 30 years earlier - possibly foreseeing the importance of strap/sneaker synergy three decades ahead. Uncanny.

The level of idiocy displayed in this thread is above average. Most comments are from people that don't have first hand experience, and just want to post hateful/"smart" comments.

Go to amazon and order the black sports band knock-off, then an Apple sport band. Open the boxes, and then shuffle and put the bands on the table. Close your eyes. Reach for the bands. I assure you that just by touch, you will be able to tell them apart - INSTANTLY.

Also, besides the tactile difference due to the different composition, the knockoff bands are:
1- thinner, so there is a gap where it meets the watch. FACT.
2- show the mold's marks. FACT.
3- are a lint/dust magnet. FACT.
4- don't last anywhere as long. FACT.

Yes, I own both genuine and knock-offs. There is NO comparison between them. Period. End of story.
