A-ha!

As Monty Python used to say "Ooh what a give-away!"

Or is it? Why am I getting a sinking feeling about this?

Most companies wait for a product to fail before laying off staff. Has FuelBand already failed? Do phones make better pedometers? I guess so & I'm sure they make a better place to view results. They don't sit as a reminder on your wrist if you want help achieving goals, though.

Don't know if this is such good news for Apple devices, all the same.

FuelBand hasn't appealed & Apple does like to take a product category and 'do it right', but I for one took some solace from Nike making FuelBand as—good, Apple doesn't need to do that. Now I'm worried they might… but if they put an iPod, a phone and an internet communicator into it…? Dunno.

This shouts major exclusive deal between Apple and Nike. The deal obviously required Nike to drop fuel band. In return Apple would use their tech to "fuel" the iWatch. I would also wager this means only iWatch / iOS will be able to access Nike Fuel based software etc. There is also likely to be some peripheral exclusivity that only Nike are allowed to produce.

All of the buy now links lead to pages with no apparent 'Click here to buy' links.

Unless I'm having a bad Monday, and just don't see them. I'm thinking they are done right now...

im not inviting any e-hate, but i called this.... it only makes sense for nike to do this... their fuelband software is awesome and they excel at wearable fitness products...

apple would have a stiff competitor if they partnered with google... if apple partnered with nike on the iwatch, the first build will definitely be a huge success from the get go

i wasnt interested in the 1st build (b/c i already have a fuelband on 24/7) but if they have nike onboard, they've got my attention

im curious to see what Nike and apple are cooking up... this is gonna be something epic if they're 1. forcing nike to drop the fuelband and 2. NIKE NEVER PRODUCED A BAND FOR ANDROID/ETC....

im really happy about this :apple:

Look at it this way, what was the MP3 player before the iPod? Nothing. What was the tablet before the iPad? Nothing. I see the same thing with a wearable device, Apple doesn't have to invent to innovate. The iPhone changed the face of smartphones and it wasn't the first one. it was the BEST one, that is why all smartphones are like it.

I owned a tablet and mp3 player before apple entered and dominated those markets. These areas represented clear market opportunities. You could argue itunes exponentially increased the potential of these markets. I see no similar niche for wearable tech. Its an answer looking for a question
