Thinking about picking this up. I use the Nike + GPS app for my runs. How is everyone liking theirs so far? I'm going to purchase the basketball shoes once they release them later this month. Be nice to see if everything works in conjunction with each other.

So can I earn fuel with my Nike+ shoes and Nike+ GPS app or do I have to wear the Fuel Band too?

Please can you help me with Fuel Band

Got my fuelband in yesterday and that app works perfectly with it. The accuracy is spot on. A little overview for ya:

The main screen shows how much fuel you have gained and how close you are to your goal (mine is set at 2000). Also shown on the main screen are calories burned, steps taken and distance walked.

The next screen over shows a graph of activity of the day. You can switch to see daily, weekly, monthly or yearly graphs of activity.

The third and final screen shows total nikefuel since day 1, your best day, best week and best month.

Ive only synced the app to the band a couple of times as the same information on the 1st screen (calories, fuel, steps and distance) are all on the band itself. I can see the app being more useful over time to see previous activity. There are also ways you can post your achievements and data to facebook and twitter but I wont be doing that.

Let me know if you have any other questions on the band or app.

Hi there,

I have a fuel band and have managed to sync it with my iphone app but when I do it only updates the fuel band I have currently earnt, this comes up ina circle. When I go to the next tab there is no activity tracked at all for any days. Please can you tell me what I need to do to get graphs etc. Many thanks.

How many days have you been actively using and syncing the fuelband ? Activity may not show up only after one day. Have you tried syncing it to your computer and let it sync via nike+ website ?

Can anyone tell me the outer dimensions of the Fuelband box? I'm thinking of asking a friend to send me one since they aren't available in Sweden yet, but I need to calculate the postage to see if it is reasonable. Thanks!

Can you remove data? I recently bought this Sunday night after I got off of work, tested it the same day, and it is destroying my daily average... Is there any way to delete that day? Thanks.

I've had the Nike Fuelband for a couple months, and I really like it.

It's just as important to note what this device is not as much as what it is.

If you are looking for a calorie-accurate fitness tracker, this is not the device you are looking for.

Instead, it's a simple little motivator to get off your ass and stay active. I really like the Fuel point system, it gets addictive to meet and exceed your goals.

I wrote up a full review of it on my blog if you're interested -

Happy days, just had it replaced with a brand new one at Nike Town :D

this helped a lot!... please keep me posted once you get the medium and let me know how that ends up fitting... few posts above i attached the pic of my wrist with the sizing guide...and from what you posted, it seems like i may need a medium.

Let me know how it fits once you get your medium if you can :)

Hi,
Did you choose your fuel band yet? I have the same size of wrisp as you showed on pic few posts above.
So I still hesitate what size to go for.
I think the medium with large extender would be fine. Either way the large one with no links seems to be too large. Or not?

Nike+ Fuelband Sizing Help- Which size Fuelband should I buy?

A little help for those trying to figure out UK Fuelband sizes :):-

Small fits most women
Medium in UK (Renamed Medium/Large in US) fits most men
Large in UK (Renamed Extra Large in US) fits bigger men

And a bit more detail, the basic sizes of the bracelets before you add an additional link are:-
UK Small is 5.79 inches/ 147 mm
UK Medium is 6.77 inches/ 172 mm
UK Large is 7.76 inches/ 197 mm

With the smaller link attached these become:-
UK Small 6.09 inches/ 155 mm
UK Medium 7.07 inches/ 180 mm
UK Large 8.06 inches/ 205 mm

With the larger link attached these become:-
UK Small 6.39 inches/ 163 mm
UK Medium 7.37 inches/ 188 mm
UK Large 8.36 inches/ 213 mm

As a normal sized UK female, I chose a UK Small which is a very snug fit with the smaller link but also gives a very comfy fit with the larger link, which is how I choose to wear it. I think the bands have been designed so that there is a bit of flexibility there so each size actually fits a range of different sized wrists. If in doubt, I would go for a small as a female, and a medium as a male unless you're a big guy, then go for the biggest size. Hope this helps!

I got one on 1st May and have fully bought into the concept.

It's superb for someone like me, really motivates me to exercise more and keep active. I've lost over a stone in weight, my body fat percentage has gone from 24% to 10.4%, and I'm the fittest I've ever been.

PRO - Well made/engineered, idiot proof to use, syncs with iPhone/computer, great motivational tool, daily target

CON - Pricey (was £149, now £129 I believe), mine went nuts after 3 months, but was replaced no questions asked, accurate only to about 90% (counting steps/calories/mileage)

Anyway, I don't work for Nike! But I can fully recommend it, especially for people with desk jobs or those who are really inactive for most of the day. It isn't for everyone, but trust me, in 5-10 years "wearable fitness" will be as normal as mobile phones.

So I almost bought one a couple weeks ago, how does it track your activity? Do you have to be wearing Nike+ shoes?

I got mine in July. It's awesome. In December 2011 I decided to start getting in shape again. 6 years of eating nothing but crap and being lazy put me up 80 pounds. I've lost all that and while I lost most of it before the FuelBand, it's a good daily metric for my activity.

Only thing I disagree with is the Fuel earned from running. I ran 5 miles in 36 minutes and had less fuel than my friends who definitely didn't run 5 miles. Dancing earns you a lot apparently.

Can i just add my two cents to this.
I've had mine a week now and i was starting to get very suspect about how much stuff is earned whilst driving.
On a 30 min drive across 18-20 miles on a typical British b road (relatively un-level, bumpy, fair amount of cornering) I gained 214 Fuel Points, Burnt 70 Calories and Walked 100 Steps.
I've turned off the display of Calories & Steps now cause it's just to inaccurate for me. I was actually genuinely interested in how many steps i walked a day and how many calories i was burning, but i just think it's impossible for it to tell the difference between different movements.

No you don't need anything else.

It tracks your movement via your wrist. Therefore it will miss a couple of things (e.g. stationary exercise bike, modest for weights) but generally for cardio activities it's great for knowing how active you are, though it's not as specifically accurate as other products for niche exercises.

Driving is one of the big downfalls, it is frustrating. But I've learned to live with it. I just make my daily target a bit higher to compensate.

I turned off Calories and Steps, after 6 months I've learned that the Fuel score is much more fulfilling. Guess you have to buy into their philosophy but I did and loved it.

My wife wants one now, picking one up this week.

Waterproof Fuelband? App for Android

Hey gang! Have you heard any rumors on a future waterproof version of Fuelband?

I'm no athlete (my 'figure' shows this statement!) but I was wondering about this... Would be neat to be able to get into the pool with my kids not worrying about the need of taking of the band.

I plan to buy a fuelband in the next couple of days and try to get in better shape, not out of vanity but for preventive health reasons!!!!

I have been doing some research regarding sizing (don't want to mess this up!) and actual sizing information posted in a previous post seems more accurate and useful than the printed cut-out. I'll take measures of my wrist tomorrow and order the band.

Also, have anyone heard of any updates on and FUEL app for Android? yes, this is a Mac forum, I got a MBP and a iPad 3 but I rather have a Galaxy Note II for a phone!

I admit my relation with Apple has run cold after iPhone 5 and iPad 4 announcements :( we might separate!

Thanks for the help!

Man thinking about buying this as well. thinking logically if it only measures "movement" then it wont be accurate but it cant be THAT off right? Im guessing the point system would keep me motivated to "move" around more. WINTER IS COMING... and im getting lazy hahaha

I own one as well as does my wife. She is a fitness nut..... I'm not. It's more helpful to me, keeps me motivated. For her it's somewhat frustrating because she wants something with more accurate metrics.

I've had mine for two or so weeks now. Definitely keeps me motivated and keep moving. Never really realized how sedentary life is for me until I started wearing this band. Now I realize that I have to work out for an hour or so per day just to keep in the above average day zone. If I don't I don't even crest the normal day threshold.

I wish to buy Nike+ FuelBand. But don't like that my data will be in cloud. Wish nice diagrams with local software for OS X and local data.

Is this possible?
Is the user forced to create a Nike account?

Really just an expensive pedometer if you don't try to use the Nike plus account.... However it is possible.
