Argus has had M7 integration for weeks now... Nike isn't the first

it says "first introduced" not first to release ;)

-----

I appreciate that the app is free, wish they could just add it to Nike+ Running instead of another app.

No, you're not missing anything. Though it's confusing that you find something wrong with this.

It's entirely opt-in. Those that find this fun/worthwhile/beneficial can take advantage of it. Those that don't, don't need to bother.

I'm not sure what's you find objectionable about this. It looks like it's exactly the way you'd want it, in a take it or leave it sort of way.

I think he feels the overload of information doesn't help. That you're missing the forest for the trees. I.e., gathering metrics on your sleep cycles, steps in a day, heart rates, etc. isn't excessively helpful if they aren't in a easy to digest package. The average individual would do better to simply MOVE, vs focusing on hitting certain metrics in multiple categories each day.

I dunno man, I took an hour nap at like 10:30a, and the app shows I have some activity. Doesn't make sense.

Unless it gives you a minimum number of fuel points to represent the energy you consume when your at your resting point then I don't think it makes sense either.

Can someone please explain to me why the average person would need to track this much data about their daily life? I understand exercise apps...but tracking how much I walk, sit, or stand...and then offering me incentive to do it again?

You don't have to but it's an interesting data to know. I have Pedometer ++ and I don't check it daily or anything. It runs itself on the background. I only did test it once and it seems very accurate. I usually check it once a week.

I do not see the point of all this technology clutter that people seem to think they need to get in shape.

I am firm believer in measuring progress but a simple watch gives more than enough data to track improvement for all but the most advanced athlete surely?

No, the M7 processor captures all this data constantly, regardless if the app is running or not... which is the cool part.
Cool! How do I know that the GPS will be on all the time? Does it only turn on when I leave my house (when not on Wifi)? Because it isn't showing as on right now (its on in the settings)

When I hit the link that's supposed to go to the app, it takes me to an app made by Nike about different fabrics... Not the Move app.
I'm on the Swedish app store if it makes any difference, but is anyone else getting this?

It's not that we needed it as we never had this before but it's good to be able to use it if you want to.
I never wear a watch haven't needed too for years as my phone has the time so their is not the need to carry extra clutter:rolleyes:

We know all about you Swedes  The link works for us Kiwi's

You run with your iPad in your pocket? :O

I guess it's for nerds trying to get into shape. I dunno, I don't check any stats, and I'm healthy and quite fit, at least compared to other Americans. Sounds like they're trying to turn an imprecise science into data on a spreadsheet.

And this guy is not a nerd. (Using Xcode, I did build that.)

Doesn't work with iPad Air M7 coprocessor....already deleted it

You need some reading glasses

And what were you doing with your right hand when you where asleep:rolleyes:

I think nike+ move is overload with information.

There are many other apps who are better and more user friendly.

No acces to the nike comunnity from the app......

when try to post on twitter i get always links to iTunes in my message.

To many Links to other nike products in the option menu.

i like this step counting apps.

Pedometer ++
Fitly
Steps
Motion M7

Yeah, the headline is misleading "first introduced"?

Haha, yes it was first introduced but not released for one and a half month....just like Infinity Blade III which was "first introduced" in early 2012 and released in late 2013...:D

Or perhaps it has, quite reasonably, escaped your attention that when most people (you know, the ones who AREN'T as awesome as you) are given a way to quantify how much exercise they are getting and the progress they're making, they are much more likely to stick to an exercise regimen, becoming much more reliable about putting in the exercise and much more likely to continue it longer. I can see why you wouldn't have noticed, since you don't need it, but it turns out that there are some great recent studies that tell you this.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that another NSA-style toy that watches every step of its "owner" will help him or her to get into perfect shape...

Here's my advice: Get a dog. A real one, not a tamagochi. And take it for a two hours walk every morning. Good for you, good for the dog. No need for an electronic GPS surveillance gadget sponsored by Big Brother or the National Socialists of America (NSA).

Simply gorgeous. Nike's iOS7 apps are really beautiful.
They manage to bring out the best in the potential that iOS7 offers.

Would be interesting to see what happened if Nike (and their app agency) were tasked with giving iOS7 an overhaul.

Then Everything will be Blue, Green and Red :D
