Well I got mine last night :D

Now only had brief play time as I was busy yesterday and work now...

Screen size isn't that noticeably larger to be honest, it is slightly brighter though.

Camera and application is meh! Fun for 5 minutes and then you think to yourself, an I ever really going to use it ?

Battery life I have no answer yet, the only thing I do hope is that the indicator of battery life is better than on the DS Lite. With my DS lite, there would be next to no indication my battery was low, even on the DS lite menu screen, and then the next minute its blinking red on me and turns itself off. I think I got around 8 hours from the DS lite, but as the indicator was useless, really I'm just guessing. With the DSi I'll just have to see, at the moment it's fully charged anyway...

Menu system is ok, nice little improvement. Haven't bothered with the App store yet...

How did the thing feel? I have been kind of uncertain about the new finish since it was announced

Oh god it was wierd and still feels weird. It's like holding cotton or sand paper. After the nice white gloss of the DS lite the DSi feel really strange indeed. I put a hard plastic skin case on it and it feels better now...

Can anyone confirm that older DS games do, or do not work on WPA?

Mario Kart DS works for me online and I'm on a WPA Apple network

Hows the sound quality compared to a Lite? That really got me when I first got a Lite, sounded pants compared to the original DS.

I've been reluctant to buy after hearing it is a matte finish. I tried a matte DS Lite before and I couldn't stand it. The glossy Lite has always felt so much better for me. I'll probably wait to try it out in store.

I quite like the matte Lite.

How does the DSi feel in your hand? Do the corner dig into your palm like on the Lite? Ouch that hurt!! :(

I prefer the matte finish. I wish my Black DSLite were that type. The problem I have with the glossy finish, is that it doesn't allow my fingers to breathe, as I have really hot hands. I had to get into a habit of constantly shifting my fingers and holding my DS lightly -- no pun intended.

Hmm. To me it just seems that the glossy ones feel better built or something. I can't wait to try out the DSi though and see if it feels better to me.

EXACT same problem. And finger prints :p

Feels much the same as DS lite to me.

I can see the point of the matte finish, but it does feel really alien to the touch.

Funnily when I showed the DSi to a friend earlier, the first thing it remarked was 'is it a bit flimsier than the other one? '...... I don't think it is, but its funny how it appears so.

I can't get my games to work on a WPA network...

edit/ according to a nintendo cs rep, connecting to wpa networks only works for the DSi Shop and Web Browser, not any games =(

thats pretty much as id expected :(.

Also, do you think the white would discolour like the shoulder buttons on the white ds lite? mine are yellow now:eek:!

Weird. Does WPA2 make any difference ? It definetly works for me and we have security enabled.

I think it does because even though the system can use it, the games weren't designed for it so I think it doesn't work.

There's also a decent amount of complaints about wifi problems on the Nintendo forums regarding in game wifi.

And I can get a game to connect on a DS Lite to my WEP wifi connection while my DSi can connect but can't connect with another player

According to the Nintendo Tech Support person I spoke with today . . . no
One work around is to turn off security on your wireless network.
He said the newer titles, when released, should work with WPA though.

If you have an original DS, I could see where the DSi would be a big improvement. However, if you have a DS Lite it's more "meh," but I'll update to it eventually if they start pumping out GB and GBA games on the DSi store.

I traded in my DS lite for the Dsi and glad I did :D

Which do you like the most out of the DSi, hardware or software improvements?

+1 The light blue looks really nice when you see it in person IMO

We can only get Black and White :( And I don't want to import one, because it seems they are, or at least upcoming games, will be region locked.

OH OH OH!! And does it scratch as easily as the Lite? If I look at mine I can see hundreds of small scratches, probably down to its glossiness.
