Surprised at Galaxy but it's a good surprise.

Dissapointed by many things though.

To sum up Nintendo's conference for me....

No Pikmin.
No F-Zero.
No WaveRacer.
No Pilotwings.
No Zelda.
No Kid Icarus.
No wii-remote with motion plus built in.

WHY have you forsaken me Nintendo?

but at least there's Galaxy 2 (let's hope it feels like a new game and not just simply a rehash / expansion pack)

Again two new mario games, when will we see some new franchises of nintendo. I realy hope nitendo will give me a reason to get my wii back out of his box in the cellar.

+ golden sun DS
o mario galaxy 2: expected mroe than a straigth sequel but level looked cool
o metroid game: don't care for metroid but some of those cutscenes look awesome for a nintendo game
o FF crystal bearers: doesn't look half bad
o the archer shooting thing looked ok
- 4 player mario looked halfway ok nothing mind blowing
- vitaly scan thing whatever add on: unless they make it so that you can still hold a nunchuk in hand it's a pointless gimmick.. only then you can get games reacting to your fears ;)
- everything else like the basketball etc.

weakest of all press conferences

edit: you just gotta love nintendo for not showing their own new games in their press conference

I was watching this online at the time and actually gave up and went to get some coffee when Iwata started talking about this vitality whatever. I was all ready to be just as disappointed as last year, then I saw there would be Mario Galaxy 2, and an all new Metroid.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii: big positive. I was hoping for a new 2d perspective mario. The co-op seems interesting, but I'm glad it isn't a requirement.

Metroid - Other M: what's with that name? I'm skeptical of a third person metroid game after how wonderful the controls on corruption were, but I absolutely liked what I saw, and look forward to trying it.

Zelda - Spirit Tracks: would have liked to see a little more, perhaps a demo, but oh well. Also disappointed not to hear about the new wii Zelda they are no doubt working on. But hey, if it wasn't ready, then it wasn't ready, as long as they are working on it...

Mario Galaxy 2: looking forward to trying out yoshi. I hope this one has more puzzles. the first one was really great in a few places, but a lot of it just seemed bland to me.

The Conduit: three weeks. can't wait.

Wii Sports Resort: i'll get it, it'll probably be fun.

Everything else: LAME

Overall, not bad. Factor 5 and Retro Studios are both working on wii titles, yet neither have talked about what they are yet. (one of them is probably jid icarus) I was hoping to hear that today, but oh well.

I wouldn't even mind a rehash, Galaxy was one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had and the only downside to that game was there wasn't more of it. Infact I hope they don't change it too much and stick with a 100% orchestral soundtrack this time (no midi tracks, as few as they were).

Has there ever been a sequel Mario game? I don't get why they would want to revisit Galaxy. It seems like the game engine was already built, so they thought "what the hell."

I loved Galaxy, but creating a direct sequel seems lazy.

However, I'm sure I'll be picking up the majority of the first-party titles shown:

• New Super Mario Bros. Wii
• Wii Fit Plus
• Metroid: M
• Super Mario Galaxy 2
• Wii Sports Resort

Every single bullet point can be aligned with what you said in bold.

Since my only stake on the Big N side of things is the DS, I was a little disappointed.

Maybe I just expected too much after the epic Microsoft keynote?

I love the metroid prime games (def. getting the wii control compilation) and this one looks even better...those are some epic, bad*** cut scenes. Metroid Prime is def. in my top 3 games (LoZ:OoT, SSB64).

Overall though, Nintendo's E3 was meh. This was a horrible year for the Wii. But I'm excited for Conduit, Galaxy 2, and Metroid.

Oh, and good call on New Super Mario being Mario4Swords/LittleBigMarioPlanet...ya cynical ppl. ;)

Wasn't SMB2/The Lost Levels a sequel?

I quickly read the headline on destructoid saying that SMBG2 would be '90% new'. To be fair though, I didn't read the full article as I'm at work.

I must say Metroid: M looks really good but will it be FPA or 2D-3D TPS...it doesn't matter to me because I'm a freak for Metroid and will get it.

Super Mario Wii/SMG2 looks awesome and I can't wait to get my hands on them. These three games along with all of the survival horror games coming out for the Wii will keep me satisfied for a while.
