Hi jalyst, are you suggesting that the MM 100 are APT-X compatible? Could you just confirm that?

Have a closer look at the link I just provided, post #54 ;)
Hopefully Senn's doco isn't wrong.... :|

Could it be because the signal could bounce back? can you remember if you were running through an area without buldings around?

It's my understand that BT (current spec & generally speaking) isn't quite as effective in large, wide-open spaces.
On this occasion I did happen to be in a very large, wide open space, at a lodge inter-state for my sister's wedding.
So that may well have been it, not sure....

Cheers

For those considering the Jaybird SB1 or SB2, I suggest you look up the go groove airband.

Same exact thing for way less.

Wow, they do look like the same exact design just only available in one color. Is GoGroove a company? I can't find a web page for them.

It would be interesting if they are really old SB1s that they are selling cheap.

true but you're not gonna get lifetime warranty against sweat damage

I have the SB1 and there is no lifetime warranty for sweat that I can find. Perhaps that SB2

EDIT: I do see that sweat is covered.

I have a pair. Except for the decals...there are exactly the same as the SB1 with a 3 yr warranty.

Direct or Newegg

Well, that list does not actually state that when used in conjunction with the MM 100 you can benefit from Apt-x, am I wrong? I would contact the vendor before bitting the bullet because they can always say that in fact both devices are Bluetooth compatible although they can't do apt-x... Call me paranoid ;)

Odd, never saw this response via email.

The fact that it says in the associated products section:
The BTD 300i is compatible with the following products:
And then goes on to list the MM 100...

Is a pretty strong indicator that it should be compatible with that adapter.
But as I said websites are often incorrectly documented, so it'd pay to check with pre-sales 1st.

Upon going through their entire BT headphone/headset ranges specs/descriptions...
It seems that only the product description pages for the PX210BT & PXC310BT mentions APT-X.
So it may be that only these 2 out of 6 in the range, have inbuilt support for APT-X.

How's it going, still happy with the MM 100, mines been dong some weird stuff lately.

When it's low on power I find I can't turn-it-off by holding the big button on the right earpiece for 2-sec.
Think I'll return it for a service check, it still fundamentally works, but it's def. a bit faulty.

I decided to give my pair back before the "grace" period was over. I didn't like the neckwire although I got pretty surprised about how stable the bluetooth link was. I also didn't like the isolation as you pointed out.

Uhm, that sucks. I've got to say that when I bought mine, the seller repeated constantly that some customers had already purchased more than one pair because they were very satisfied...

All in all, I think that the MM are good value for the money... I'm rather nitpicky myself ;)

I'm waiting for the SB2 to arrive... I hope I get them soon but I fear my look is gona be funny (I'm bald :D)

I'm not sure what your definition of jogging is, but for running, I use Sennheiser/Adidas PDX 680, and I absolutely love them. Perhaps they make a bluetooth variant?

Does the sound leak much on these? I'm looking for a pair that is sturdy. I might run with them a bit, but mainly use them for commuting. I have been using earbuds, but whatever model I get, they seem to break because I wrap them up a lot.

Any suggestions?

Shame you couldn't get used to the comfort/fit, I admit I'm not super happy about that aspect.
Yes signal is very good...
As pointed out open circumaural is generally the best SQ, but only if you're not likely to be in noisy environments.

Yeah not happy, will have to return to place of purchase soon for a replacement.
It's definitely broken, hard to explain the issue, it's really weird...

Not sure why you think SB2 is going to be an improvement over the MM100.
I think fit/comfort was the main thing worrying you about the MM100 right?

Indeed the main reason is to avoid that unconfortable neckcord. I know that the look may not be the coolest look but the day before yesterday I was in the train on my way to work and I guy close to me was wearing some headphone very similar to the SB2... They probably were the SB1.. I should have asked him but I was way too sleepy!!

I feel like testing what it feels like having a pair of bluetooth headphones without that neckcord... we'll see, I'll report on that if I finally get them. The courier messed up billing and delivery addresses and I have to start the purchase process all over again!! grrr :(

that does not seem to be encouraging, does it!!?? :)

Yeah utter PIA...
I'll have to find some time to return it to the nearest JB Hi-Fi outlet ASAP.

I'll get it once more...
But if it craps out again, I'll move onto to something else on my short-list.

I was on a quest for bluetooth and all of them are uncomfortable. I tested 3 and gave up on all the all in one.

I'm using a sonyericson mw600 bluetooth transmitter. It connects your regular headphones to the transmitter. The transmitter is super strong and holds it even from 30 feet away. Battery last me a few days, and its small and light. THeres a few negatives, such as the fact that its easy to touch the buttons and change the songs but its the best solution so far and you can use any headphones for it.

Yeah I considered it, few reasons why I didn't go for that form-factor, mentioned early in the thread.

The earlier problems I was having...
Haven't occurred since I got my 2nd mm100, & stopped pairing it w/the BT in my 06' mac mini.

When I use it exclusively w/the newer BT in my iTouch 4g, I don't have a problem.
I think the issue stems from trying to run two A2DP profiles at the same time.
The MM100 supports multi-pair (x2), but they have to be two different profiles.

So the issue's mostly gone, alas the wall charger that came with the 2nd one is broken!
So I've no option but to charge the mm100 via usb...

Weirdly this 2nd one does feel much more comfortable too.
I've also found that the big button on the right earpiece is easier to push.
If you aim for the narrow section rather than it's centre.

I'm very happy with the SQ, volume, signal strength, & every other aspect.
But I'll have to return it again soon, as a broken wall wart's not acceptable.

S-10

I finally got fed up with the wires during workouts. I picked up the S-10. At first the sound was not loud and not much base with the already installed ear piece. So I selected another one and it fit my ear canal like a cap. Blocked out most external sounds and the bass and volume was like night and day. Everything is clear and deep bass is thee. This is a keeper.

I still haven't bloody gotten around to returning my mm100's
I hope they don't give me any hassle returning them...

Pretty sure it's 3yrs, but return to retailer may only be 1yr of that.
So beyond 1yr, I may have to return direct to Syntec (Sennheiser's local support agent).

Been using the LG-Tone for the last few weeks while jogging. Really happy with them. I can't use the Bluetooth headphones that hook behind the ears because I find them uncomfortable while wearing my glasses (personal preference)

These feel like earbuds but have what looks like a woman's headband lying on your neck

They don't bounce around much while running either

Going to get some Comply Foam buds for them though
