Been in store to old orange store at Cribbs causeway and they said can't do it instore has to be done over the phone with customer services....

Spoke to them again , not gonna waste any more time on the phone to them. Defiantly looks like its a buy out job , which i wont do. As i stated to them do they not think that by the time these orange and tmobile contracts end in 17 months etc all the other networks will have launched, and the customers who were not allowed a 4g plan with there provider that supported 4g won't just choose another provider. Deaf ears i believe it falls on who comes up with these ideas.

Cant be done mate , at least not at the moment. Whether they change the rules remain to be seen.

I am waiting on a call back from a supervisor etc first , i requested a call back within 72 hours and for them to note that request too .

I asked them when they offered to put me through to discuss cessation and new contract if they really thought i would pay off 17 months remaining for jack all then re-sign with them again ??

Idiots

you have stated your happy with your contract with ORANGE..... that's fine but you cant upgrade to 4G because orange don't do 4g........

Dude READ before you comment. EE is Orange and T-mobile. EE is their 4G option. Seriously if you're not trying to move over yourself, or help those that are, why are you even posting in this thread?

The OP is complaining cause he can't have something he was never promised or even existed when he stated his contract ... what wrong with pointing that out ?

Spoke to orange in september and they said they would migrate existing customers over , by adding a 4g price plan not by asking them to terminate their contract and start another. Have you never changed a price plan or did you never swap a iphone 3gs sim to a micro sim for the 4. These are easy alerations to an existing account. So when orange and tmobile anounced they would release 4g as part of off EE and when asked could you migrate over the answer was always yes.

Dylan35 i believe you are just trying to get a reaction and cant possibly take you seriously as what you are contributing appears to be rubbish so i will leave it at that as far as your concerned.

I see the dummy is on the floor again:D

I would always assume that once you enter into any contract then you have to see it through, unless you are prepared to pay exit fees. It seems what Orange said to you a few weeks ago, was misinformation.

I have that sinking feeling I'm going to be having a wonderful lengthy conversation with Orange customer services when I get home.

The EE website clearly states that the move is free of charge. So my advise to those getting nowhere over the phone is to NOT buy yourself out of your cuurent contracts. There is obviously a communications issue or staff training issue between Orange/T-mobile and EE. It's odd because they're the same company, so hopefully it'll be resolved quickly.

Flawless.

Called orange went to the option to move to EE 40 mins on hold and they changed me over in 5 mins.

Sim in the post.
I would recommend speaking to the move to EE team. And wait. It's gonna take a whole to get through today!!

This is brilliant. It means it is possible and puts my mind at ease a little. :)

Is that tmobile or orange how long you got left etc

Ah that's why you have an iPhone 5 with them the problem is for customers over 6 months into contract. When I spoke to the advisor and said what about new customers who have just taken A iPhone 5 contract out they said they would be sent one. Customers under 6 months with a iPhone 4S could take it back and pay 99 pound for the 5 and sim and anything over 6 months you have to buy out the contract.

I'm in the same boat!

I got my iPhone 5 with T-Mobile as a new customer because I was under the impression that I'd get a new 4G SIM card when EE launched. I spoke to upgrades at T-Mobile and they told me that I have to pay a one-off fee of £99 to exit my contract with T-Mobile and then they'll send me a 4G EE SIM card in the post.

I'm confused. I don't understand why I have to pay to get 4G? The advisor told me I have two options: either pay £99 to get 4G and enter a NEW 24 month contract, or wait 22 months to exit my contract.

I can't believe T-Mobile are doing this. Surely I'm not the only one who feels misled?

They seem to be mistaken with you. They want you to pay the 99 pounds for someone who is 6 months in on a iphone 4s plan. They should send you one free of charge as you took out a iphone 5 just recently. You should be fine unlike the rest of us outside of 6 months who bought our own iPhone 5. Ring up get another advisor.

Little bit of an update. I've rang Orange and, after 20 minutes or so on hold to their upgrades department, I spent about five minutes going through the price plan details and address checks. Done.

A new EE sim card is on it's way to me for free. No charge to swap.

It seems unfortunately that it is just the guys that go over the six month cut offs that are experiencing major problems. I did ask the advisor about people experiencing issues and it being impossible to do online. He advised that the option to swap online isn't active if you're still in contract because of a high demand. Basically their website can't take it so the only option is to ring in. Wether or not you'll be charged to move over all depends on individual accounts and whether you already have a 4G phone. He wouldn't go into exactly what the terms are that make up their decisions. Only that my account was ok to switch for free.
