I'm pretty sure they'll be talking about iOS7.

And i don't know why people still haven't realized that apple has reset it's release cycle. Obviously we won't see new Apple Software & Hardware until Fall 2013

Well, I really hope they do some real improvements this time around to OS X. Not just "deeper social integration".

I liked the 10.8 update. Don't care much for the social integration but i liked iMessage integration as well as notification center.

I agree, those things are nice. However, I would really like to see a shift to focus on productivity and professional apps.

Yeah, imessage ended up being pretty much the only feature I used on OSX. That and notifications (to a lesser extent on my macbook).

Doubt I would care much for Siri or Maps on my desktop.

Show us iworks 2014 already!

Well seeing as how they pretty much completely ignore their computers these days, you would think the iPhone and the iPad are all they make. There have been what? 3 new iPads and a couple new iPhones since they updated the iMac? Dont even get me started on the Mac Pro...

....also see the fate of the 17" MBP...

I don't mind the S models. They are always much faster than the original model. I had the 3G and when i upgraded to the 3GS there was a large difference in speed. The problem is that we have reached a point in cell phones where increases in speed and power don't really matter anymore. I don't even think that the software out currently even takes full advantage of the 4S's hardware. Peoples interest in mobile will start to move away from the Hardware and more into the software which is why i am hoping iOS7 will be a game changer which it should be with all the changes in software development currently going on.

What i hate about apple is they release a new software update that you know the previous phone can handle perfectly but make it exclusive to the newest model as we have seen with Siri when the 4S was released, Video recording with the 3GS, even taking pictures while video recording with the iPhone 5 which you can't do with the 4S.

Also if they come out with the 5S then that would mean i would have the most up to date body style for another year! :)

Yea see I tend to agree, it's as if they punish us by not releasing the latest OS right away. Almost anything they release now should be able to be handled by the iphone 5.

I also don't mind the S upgrades, and while I am a tech whore, I'm cool with a new iphone every year instead of 6 months or so. However the rest of the world and Apples investors may not feel the same and may want more models per year to keep people's interest up.

I agree totally, the fact that there is only 1 phone per year at least makes me feel like my iPhone is the latest and greatest vs. being old in 3 months time.

....
However, I do share some concern with you about Apple's seemingly decreasing interest in computers...

Agreed. Anybody who believes that we are in the post-desktop era is full of BS. Networks are neither reliable nor secure, so cloud computing is not an option that can be relied on yet. As good as the iPad and other tablets are, I cannot analyze data on them (some of my research has data sets of 100 GB). Technical, professional, and artistic users still need powerful desktops.

Yea, just like they were going to be in trouble 3 years ago unless they added widgets and made the iPhone 4.5 inches right?

I don't think they'll be in real trouble!

But the fact that people, and I mean regular consumers are flocking to stores to pick up the Galaxy S4 which has a 5 inch screen is really a concern. I honestly think Apple should be at say 4.3 inches as far as screen size goes without making the phone a whole lot bigger with a giant bezel.

Widgets and all that jazz are drains on the battery and will honestly screw up the finesse of IOS. I think we need a refresh with some really cool and useful things, but widgets and a bigger screen over 4.5 is reseeved for my Android device, which is an HTC ONE at the moment.

Flocking? Really? I live in Southern California where it's overpopulated and I walked into an AT&T store and a Best Buy that had dozens of S4s available. That never happens the day an iPhone is released. Apple sells more iPhones in a week then Samsung sells Of the S series in months. I don't think Apple is too concerned.

Flocking to stores? Check your sources

You guys sound like ultimate Fan Boys...

Take it easy and relax, did I say that Samsung was going to out sell anything Apple sells?

I said people are flocking to stores, which they are. I was in Staten Island yesterday shopping and actually bought a new unlocked iphone for myself in Apple and then went down to at&t to activate the SIM card and every person in the store was buying a Samsung GS4, and I'm talking a good amount of people. I asked the guy who was helping me if it had been like that all day and he said people have been calling about the phone for the last 2 weeks non stop.

But does that matter? What's your point to question me saying people having interest in a new phone that happens to not be an iphone.

Listen I'm no Samsung fan, I had the original Galaxy along with the GS3 and Samsungs software is crap IMO. But that doesn't change the fact that because of Samsungs marketing and the fact that it is in deed a fine looking screen, the GS4 is going to sell very well.

However all that has nothing to do with beating the iphone or selling more phones then Apple. It has to do with the average customer including females being very interested in a phone with a fairly large screen.

I don't need sources to inform me on something that is pretty much common sense and very well known already.

The iMac was updated 6 months ago.

Apple needs to skip the useless "S" upgrade and come out with the iPhone 6. Everytime they come out with an S model it makes the upgrade look like a gimmick. If they come out withthe 5S, expect their stock to fall even more.

The "s" upgrades have been far from useless. At least not if you had a 3G or 4. I often wished I had the s model when owning the previous release.

I'm quite looking forward to the 5S being released. The rumours about ramping up production and recruiting new workers were a clear indication that the next phone won't be released for a few months.

I have back the 5 in the 2 week return window as it wasn't a big upgrade from my 4 and was only compatible with EE's LTE. Hopefully the new one will have full LTE support, upgraded wifi and a few other bells and whistles.

Again, where are you getting that the average customer wants a 5 inch PHONE? Its common sense and very well known? Really? Thats absurd to make that claim with no proof to back it up. I would say the vast majority of buyers will say a 5 inch phone is too large.

First off your way off base...

It's not absurd at all, check my comments and take a deep breath, I said IMO 4.3 is the perfect size and sweet spot for alot of folks.

And Samsung was able to keep the S4 the same size as the S3 footprint wise while making the screen bigger.

So your one of those people that refuse to adjust with the times and realize that there are alot of phone manufacturers out there in the world and people these days have many different choices as well as perspectives on what works for them.
