No 64bit kernel boot on late 2010 MBA?

Has anyone tried or have any luck getting a new MBA to boot with 64bit kernel? I did a search in this forum. It sounded like no one has any luck since 09. I tried the step provided by Apple and other site, but no luck. My MBA is still booting with 32bit kernel???

It seems like it's an artificial EFI limitation put in place by Apple.

The Processors in the 2010 MBA lineup are 64-bit capable, so I don't see why it wouldn't boot in 64-bit unless Apple has specifically prevented it.

That being said, from what I've read, there's not a lot of benefit to booting in 64-bit unless you're trying to address memory above 4GB (which you can't do on a MBA).

32 bit kernel will handle 8 or 16 GB just fine. It's only when you have tons of memory (like 64 GB or more) where 64 bit kernel would make a difference.
 
The MBA boot with 32 bit kernel. The 64bit app can still run on the 32bit kernel as 64bit app. The thing is: some 64 bit app will run as 32 bit mode unless you tell the app to run as 64bit. Adobe LightRoom is one of them. I had to tell the app to run at 64bit mode. I am sure there will be other apps like that. The point here is: if I have 64bit system, I want to run it as 64 bit 🙄
