Did you read the OP? Didn't really sound like complaining--merely hoping the storage bump =/= a price hike
Why don't they just do 64/128/256? I always wondered why they keep that bottom rung so paltry. Other than it being a marketing ploy I don't understand why the bottom rung gets short changed like that. I will most likely go with the 128gb, but I would have considered saving $100 if the bottom rung was 64gb.
Bc it's unnecessary. For many individuals and business accounts, 16GB is more than sufficient. Why don't they just do 64/128/256? I always wondered why they keep that bottom rung so paltry. They could. Didn't say they would. You never know... if there's enough of a fuss made about it.
Definitely not likely though.
But this also isn't the typical "mid-cycle" though, is it? It has the timing of what is typically a new form factor. There's actually nothing about this that's typical. This year and next are both predicted to be unprecedented (in regards to iPhone history).I don't recall them ever adding a different storage amount mid cycle.... what they start it as it where it stays until the next phones come out...
now they may have added it to the phone when it became the old version the next year... I never really pay attention to that part of it cuz I'm always interested in the newest phone, not last years model (or the SE phones)

When previous models take the back seat because of new flagships, the number of storage choices is almost always reduced. Typically only the base model remains avaialable for purchase.
Oh, I can't see Apple adding anything "mid-cycle" in that regard. Definitely agree there.what I was referring to with midcycle is the comment that they might add another storage capacity...
you can dream on that they'll add a 64gb capacity sometime in the next year... but that's all it's going to be
This really makes the iPhone more appealing, well at least in the U.S.... Base iPhone X Plus costs the same as Note 7 in Europe, so you get 32GB of storage with the iPhone 7+ and 64GB with the Note for the same price. This is why they kept 16/64/128 for 2 years, the upsell was incredibly lucrative compared to 16/32/64 in the years before. If they go 32/128/256 this time, the upsell will be even better.
Compare this to the note 7, you could get a 128gb 7 plus for the same price as a 64gb note.
