I don't know how you guys can say they are comparable on browsing speed. My LTE gets 20 Mbps vs 4 on HSPA+ and CPU speed is better by over 100%. My 4S feels slow whenever I'm forced to use it relative to 5.

The 4S even felt old to a lot of people when it was released. Probably because it was wearing the same shell as the iPhone 4 which came out a year before that.

not just that but it's a slower clocked version of the ipad 2 processor. Not that the ipad 2 processor is slow by any means, it's just not up to par with the next gen A6 performance. I don't care what youtube videos shows what because I have an iphone 4S here with me after a year of being with it and now using an iPhone 5, the difference is clearly experienced.

Wonder how the 3GS's popularity is doing?

My mother in law still sports a white 32GB 3GS on TMobile! It's actually quite good on ios 5.1.1!

Its funny because I just purchased my first iPhone (64 gb 4s) so I've been using the search function quite a bit. I got such a good deal and I was coming from a crappy android device so I'm fine with the 4s for now. The 4s is solid phone.

Was at a party with someone who has a 3GS running iOS 6. I was impressed with how well it handled it, actually.

Welcome to MR, and I want to personally thank you for using the search function!

No, seriously, enjoy the 4S, it's a great phone.

..maybe he meant there werent many questions/threads/discussions regarding the iphone 4s.since the iphone 5 came out... I like my 5 better too..but there no need to comment if you just want to be negative.

That's exactly what meant. The 4s is still a great phone to own for those that have never own an iPhone.

I love my 4S and will do for another 2 years :)
Not maybe two years but I will keep mine.

I had to leave the android family behind to. The evo gave me to many issues. Welcome to the apple family. #

When the 5 came out it dropped the resale value of the 4S greatly. I was able to get an unlocked 64GB for $375 (sold my unlocked 16GB for $330). Works great for me right now until T-Mobile gets HSPA+ up in my area. Then I will get the 5.

Still love my 4S, which I got a couple weeks after release (but now have a newer copy since the sleep button broke last month and Apple gave me a new phone). Being under contract, I will not upgrade for at least another year, and if I get an iPad soon I may keep the phone for a couple more years.

I kind of prefer the build of the 4S. I like the thinner/lighter feel of the 5 and am cool with the longer screen, but I think I prefer the scratch-proof glass back on the 4 and 4S. Something just so much more substantial-feeling about it.

The only issues I have with the 4S is the battery life, which has been pretty bad since day one (iOS "fixes" never accomplished anything that I could tell), and the weather app which has been wonky since iOS 6 (gives me the wrong city as my local weather).

I love my 4S, and I know many people who will have 4's and 4S's for quite a while to come, they just aren't the people who post on Macrumors. I have had some network-related issues on my 4S, but they aren't anything that a 5 would address anyways. I am hoping the Google Maps and a JB for iOS6 comes out so that I can upgrade my 4S.

Like it or not, the 4S is more durable-won't bend easily, finish it more durable, etc. It does most task just slightly slower than the 5. It's just discounted so quickly because that's how people are, out with the old, in with the new-even when the new is inferior in some regards.

Yeah, I chuckled when I saw this thread. I actually returned my 5 to go back to the AT&T 4S.

I think it's the perfect size, and it just feels more durable (to me). My iOS experience doesn't feel much different from the 5.

Eventually, I'll have to switch to the new form factor (5S, perhaps?), but for now - I'm going to enjoy what I have a little bit longer. My 4S is going to last me a long while...especially since it's a 64GB!

No way. iPhone 5 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay faster. :D But seriously, it really is way faster.

The 4S battery life was way worse than iphone 5 for me. I get about 8-10 hours of battery life using LTE.

No, it's not way faster. Have you done side by sides? Most people that have the 5 and say it's MUCH FASTER are just going by memory. Do a side by side 4S vs 5, the 5 isnt that much quicker. If you think it is, you're delusional. Now, opening heavy/graphic intensive apps/games with the 5 will be breezier for sure.

And I must of got a good 4S, because I can easily get 9 hours of use and 26 hours of standby with moderate usage.

Noone talks about it because its old news.

You're right it's old news, but it seems the new news is bad news. I mean, I read more topics about problems/concerns with the iPhone 5, rather than good stuff.

Maybe there are just a lot of negative people here? I don't know.
