Why don't MacRumors Forum thread update emails have clickable thread links? Other forums I subscribe to show such links just fine, so it's not an Outlook configuration problem. The "unsubscribe from all threads" link at the bottom of the email IS clickable. It's just the main thread reply link and the "unsubscribe from this thread" links that aren't.

Is this what you're referring to? The URL that takes you to the latest post in the thread you're subscribed to?

The URL in my instant email notification works just fine for me.

I'm using Apple Mail.app and Gmail and it's working fine. There must be something in your email client that isn't right.

But what? Other forums running the same kind of forum software as MacRumors don't have this problem.

You said you're using Outlook right? Which version and is it on Microsoft Windows or OS X?

Give this Microsoft Knowledge Base article a look and see if it helps.

It's inapplicable. The problem isn't that the hyperlink fails to work, it's that there's no hyperlink at all, just a plain text version of the link.

Do you have Google Chrome installed and/or using it?

It's installed, but I'm not using it. Why would Chrome bork Outlook?

The remove Chrome step doesn't apply because the problem isn't one of hyperlinks not working. As you can see from the above screenshot, the hyperlink is being displayed as plain text. However, the "unsubscribe all" hyperlink at the bottom of the email is properly displayed as a hyperlink (and is clickable normally). And, don't forget, only MacRumors emails seem to trigger this problem. Email from other forums like, for example, AVS Forum or Howard Forums, do not display this problem, so it's not a general problem with Outlook being misconfigured to not display hyperlinks.

Then I'm all out of ideas. When I searched Google for 'hyperlinks [not working in Outlook 2010]' an awful lot of hits came up. Seems like an Outlook problem to me.

    Good luck! :)
