Don't know how things work in the UK, but if he was in the US, his insurance premium would now be doubled, that is if they'd even stoop as far as to insure him.

You're right.

Probably more likely, that he would go on the uninsurable list and no insurance company would want to insure him in the U.S.

No wonder we all pay ridiculously high insurance premiums when people use insurance to replace products....IMO, insurance should be used when your house burns to the ground or when someone steals everything you have.

But the insurance cover I have includes Accidental damage, fire & theft. So Yes my insurance premium is higher than if I only had Fire & theft. What is the point of me paying the extra premium for Accidental Damage if I don't use it when I damage an expensive item. You may be able to write off a monitor that cost you £800 but I can't. If you don't need the accidental cover don't pay for it Im sure your insurance will be cheaper.

From what I'm guessing here, you were covered for Accidental Damage so therefore you did nothing wrong. Is that right? Did you lie in the interview? If not then I can't see why people are getting to antsy.

As for insurance costs, the reason they are so high is because everyone sues everyone. And we know where that came from
