I think it has a 4 year warranty. The ACD is $1799, The NEC is about $100 more and for that $100 you get many many improvements. You would spend more than that on extendingt the 1 year ACD waranty to 3 years. Read the review at "Trusted Reviews" It's kind of ugly but I'm more interested in performance.

Unfortunately only three years for the Oz model http://www.nec.com.au/37ef8a6386c24d0bacb63f0ab8cb0298.htm

Even if Apple come out with a new 30", it probably won't better this deal, unless they cut their prices by at least 25%.

I'd I had the loot, I'd buy a 23'' ACD.. unfortunately I do not. That said, I'm probably waiting around for a promotion that drops the price to ~$500 for a Dell 2408.

Color accuracy isn't critical to me (but would be appreciated!), and I dig having soo many different display inputs (DisplayPort anyone :p)

I'm with you, Jozone. I ordered a Dell 2408 last week. It should be coming some time this week. I'll give y'all an update after I use it a bit.

Probably Dell 2408. Runner up was the XHD3000 (Gateway?) but I have no place to put it :(

One thing to note about the Dell 2408FPW is with the defaults the colors are really, really, really saturated. Especially the reds. When I first turned it on I was shocked...and a bit dismayed.

I have found knocking the Brightness down to 35 and choosing the Wide Gamut RGB profile in Display works pretty good when you use the Desktop preset mode on the monitor. Colors still "pop", but they're not nearly as saturated. It's kind of like the colors you get with a glossy display coating.

I also like the sRGB monitor preset with the Adobe RGB Display color profile. The colors are a bit less muted, but look more natural. More like a matte display coating.

If you have access to hardware calibration, I am told calibrating it for Adobe RGB provides excellent results.

Ok - So no update to Apple Displays was announced today. Disappointing but unsurprising.

I'd been waiting to see if there would be one before making my choice. I'm looking at 24" displays, but for everyone looking at 20, 23/24, 27 and 30 inch displays, which model are you planning on getting now and why?

What do you think is the best of breed 24" for someone more interested in picture quality (web, dev tools, occasional video) than games?

I bought the Eizo HD2441BK - it's very expensive, but i have no regrets. Stunning image quality.

I was hoping for some ACD updates, or at least some price drops, but it ain't going to happen so I'm just haggling with my dell rep for a good deal on a dell monitor instead. I can get one for under 40% the cost of the same ACD's a bit of a no brainer really.

Shame I love apple products but their acd's just aren't competitive.
