Just checked my compass app and noticed elevation is reading as - -

the same applies for when using the elevation complication.

This is on a AW6 with 7.0.1. It previously worked fine.

Wife’s AW6 works fine.

I’ve tried to setup as new and restore from backup but the results are the same.

Mine is doing exactly the same, since yesterday when I was getting crazy readings so I restarted my watch and then that’s what’s happened. I spoke to Apple and it’s going back for a replacement. It’s still the same, by the way, after I reset it.

My altimeter stopped working yesterday, got a replacement today and this one hasn’t worked from the moment I powered it on.
Am hoping it’s the stormy weather we’ve had over the last couple days, if not maybe software.
My Altitude Watch app works so I’m thinking it shouldn’t be a hardware issue.

Yours stopped working yesterday as well? And so did your replacement? So that’s four that stopped working in pretty much the same day. I’m in the UK, don’t know about you guys. Don’t know whether that would have any bearing on it or not.

It’s software. Support just called me back to get some more watch diagnostics.

It is? Damn, I’ve placed my order this afternoon for my replacement model. Did they give any indication on timescales for fixes?

I’m assuming we’re all talking about the series 6 by the way?

I’m also in the UK and yes I have a series 6 Graphite.
Got a feeling it’s all the rain we’ve had and the software couldn’t handle it...

Too much of a coincidence isn’t it. Somethings happened that the new altimeter can’t deal with.

I have another 14 days to return my second watch so I want it working in that timeframe. Always on Altimeter was my most anticipated feature LOL

My series 6 was ordered online direct from Apple and there is a waiting period of about 3 to 4 weeks for my replacement. That will take me out of what they call the remorse period. So they gave me an extension. I’ve placed the order for my new watch which won’t come till beginning of November and then I can send this one back. I’ve actually gone for a different model as well. If they determine it’s a software fault I might cancel my new one.

Stumpy I read your post yesterday an that’s what scared me into getting my replacement watch today.

Uk here too. The Reddit thread chaps also has theirs stop yesterday too.

I got a feeling our elevation complication will magically appear once the stormy weather passes.

You might be onto something there. But I wonder if it can be fixed with software or if it’s actually an inherent fault or limitation with the hardware.

This will be interesting, I’ll be getting my popcorn ready for the next few days.

This is really bizarre then if hers is working. Still think there could be an inherent hardware issue, but hopefully I’m wrong. Think I’ll get my too!!

It’s just weird we all started around the same time. And so far we all in the UK?

same for me. 44 Nike AW6 with 7.0.1 stopped working yesterday afternoon. tried all the resets etc that apple support suggested.

For all those having the problem I suggest contacting apple support. The more we do the more likely they are to fix it and not just send pointless replacements.

You can do it all via live chat in the support apphttps://apps.apple.com/gb/app/apple-support/id1130498044

I spent a good hour or two yesterday eve. with apple support. did everything, unpaired etc. no joy. all Apple suggested was for me to send it in and they'll check it out, or take it back to store for a refund. If it's software I'd rather hold onto it, but doesn't look like this is a large issue for everybody. maybe a few duff watches? weird coincidence these issues all appeared at the same time yesterday though!
