What it is for you is no relevance for overpricing. If 800£ is ok for a phone 800£ for a much more powerful device can't logically be overpriced. It may not fit your usage case but that has nothing to do with a fair pricing.

And why are you changing gear yearly? That's insane. I plan for at least 4 years for phones and the iPP will probably hold around 4-6 years before I need a newer model.

For me both mini and air are redundant. For the go I have a iPhone 6+ and for all other mobile usage the iPP.
I like the latest phone each year and new tech. It's cheaper to buy phones than it is to have two year contracts.

It's overpriced when you compare it to an air 2 for the average persons usage. It's faster, better speakers and has pencil support so really is that worth an extra £400? Not for me. Not like the air 2 is slow either.

Pro is a fantastic device and is great for most people who have one

For people who like the bigger screen for sure. I had the note 12.2 and it it wasn't always great size wise at times

The bigger size can be awkward to handle, but it also lets me see an entire page of letter size paper at once. It really makes a big difference when editing documents, to be able to see the "big picture," so to speak.

That's funny, but now that I have a Pro, I find myself wanting a Mini -- Pro for using at home and Mini for going out. It's the Air that's become redundant.

Well:

^this. I have an iPhone 6 Plus for most things mobile, iPad Pro for the rest.

I mostly use the iPad for its drawing capabilities though, it's the only reason why the iPad Pro became a necessity rather than a fun sort of playful addition to my MacBook and iPhone.

But talking purely size-wise, a large tablet is more convenient than a smaller one for me. It's not like the iPad Mini fits in my pocket, they all need to go in my bag anyway. Once out, the larger size lets you see more, type better and be more productive.

True, but you only need a small bag to fit the Mini -- I have a waist pouch that the Mini can fit in. I've tried the 6+, but I just don't like how it feels in my hand -- too long, feels unbalanced. Right now the 6 is the device I use when out and about, but I'd prefer the screen size of the Mini. Since I need to take at least my waist pouch every time I go out, to hold my wallet and glasses, whether I take a 6 or the Miini makes little difference. The only thing holding me back form making the switch is the Apple Watch, which only works with iPhones. But if the Apple Watch ever becomes compatible with iPads, it's bye-bye iPhone for me. (And before you ask me if I don't need the phone, I never make phone calls, so no, all I need is an lte iPad.)

A.. a waist pouch? Yeah, okay.

What's wrong with a waist pouch?

It's just that I didn't think of that for carrying an iPad. So my argument that size didn't matter for the bag doesn't work here :p

Also, I guess waist pouches are a bit of a cultural thing because I only really see them when on vacation (no idea which countries).

I love waist pouches! I used to wear one all the time, then got tired of that and started carrying purses again. I recently bought a small backpack and probably when I wear that I'll use a waist pack again to make it easier to grab my wallet or iPhone rather than having to take the backpack off. A male friend of mine does that, keeps his iPhone and his wallet in a waist pack and that way both are easy to retrieve when needed, leaving his hands free to carry other things. My waist pouches are all very small, would only contain my iPhone, wallet and maybe one or two other little things. I don't think my iPad Mini would fit in one, but the iPhone 6s Plus will.

I think some elderly users might commonly know them as "fanny packs". They were all the rage in the 1980's

Yeah, I'm not buying the "waist pouch" attempt to make "fanny packs" sound cool.

I can't go back to the size of my Air2. It seems like a large phone now. PIP on the Pro is like watching on a Mini 4 with plenty of work space left. Any question if the iPad Pro was too big or not portable is gone. The Pro goes everywhere with me. I don't carry the Pro any differently than I did my Air 2.
