No good chat room apps?

Has anyone ran across any good chat room apps? Wonder why there are so few? I have seen only a few. Every now and then I get bored and want to find someone to have (clean) chat with but I just cant find any good apps and can't even find decent ones in the browser. Any tips?

For IRC I use Colloquy on both iOS and OS X. Very nicely done app.

Thanks. I am new to the Mac world and have been wondering which software to try first. I've had my eye on Colloquy.

Try SwiftChat. It's a new app, but it's well designed. Had some nice conversations with people there
