So I have reserved an appointment to get the 6s at a store in New Jersey using the iPhone Upgrade Program as I was originally going to be traveling there. Now my travel has been cancelled and lost my appointment and the store where I live is fully sold out.

Problem is, I reached out to customer service and they advised me that they will not be doing the iPhone Upgrade Program for purchases AFTER September 25th and are unable to confirm if they will allow a date in the future for the purchase using their program...

Has anyone else received this same information from Customer Service? I think it would be kind of lame if I am unable to participate in the upgrade program just because I am now unable to get a phone on DAY ONE...

That doesn't make any sense. How could they stop the program on the same day that it starts???

    You got bad info...

The iPhone Upgrade Program is Apples new program, it's not a one day affair, it's how they intend to sell expensive phones into the future.

That is what makes me really question the validity of that statement. I doubled back and asked the same thing but they just reiterated the same statement.
That they are not announcing any additional dates at this time to set an appointment for iPhone upgrade at this time.

You would think it is bad info, but even on the site, you are not able to set up an appointment for any day AFTER September 25th....the only day you can use for iPhone upgrade, is September 25th only. Which made me contact customer service and ask.

They probably need a phone in stock to hold for you and they don't know what they will get after the 25th. As we get closer I'm sure dates will open up.

yes, very frustrating. I took some time to analyze the options and by the time I did, reservations were gone for the Plus on any network but sprint.

Okay. They used a poor choice of words but I do hope they open this back up when there is more stock. Oh if only my trip was not cancelled....oh well.

I'm positive that they have to offer the iPhone UP even after the 25th. But right now the reservation is only for the 25th. Plus, apple would have to wait till the launch weekend to be over to even begin processing the reservation again once apple store does their inventories.

Being that iPhone UP can only be done in stores, I'm sure they will continue with the iPhone UP.

I just ordered mine online and decided to have mine delivered to me. However I still have a phone that I still placed reservation, and might go to the apple store and see if they have the AT&T model since I placed a reservation for T-mobile. I know chances will be low but who knows.

Not sure who you talked too, but I just called Apple to verify and I was told something else. I was told that This program will continue without a doubt.
You should be fine setting up any future appointments.

I noticed no stores offer the 6s+ in the pulldown menu anymore... only limited colors of the 6s in 16GB :-/

I have after clicking on the normal 4.7 inch iPhone. Click on it and it will take you to another window where you can select either one

It is probably because all the 6S Plus has been reserved so therefore there is no point in keeping it there if you can't click on any model for the 6S Plus.

On the flip side, you can still order them online and have it delivered to you but there will be a 3-4 week wait.

Does anyone know, if I walk into an Apple Store on the 25th and they happen to have iPhones in stock, can I purchase one at that time under the upgrade program without having an appointment? I didn't preorder but have decided to upgrade, and I'll be near an Apple Store Friday. I'm not going to be there until later in the day, so I'm assuming they'll be out of them, especially since I want a 6s+ 64gb, which I think is like the most popular one. But if they do have them, I don't want to be disappointed when I can't use the upgrade program option.

Is it just going to be like another payment option, like you can pay by credit card or you can finance it with this program?

How do I contact Apple to ask? I can't seem to find the right place to do so.

Go to the Apple Store online and then to the iPhone 6s section. Select that you want to buy one and go through the options of selecting the model, color, etc. At some point, a "chat online" link will appear in the bottom left hand corner. I'd try that.

According to the FAQ on the Upgrade Program email:

Can I change the iPhone Upgrade Program to a different purchase option?
You can also purchase your iPhone through carrier financing or at full price. Ask a Specialist in store for more information.

So I assume you can choose any payment option upon checkout regardless.

Thank you to both replies. I'm certain I won't get lucky enough for there to still be one in stock at the end of the day, or if there is one it will be like a space gray or rose gold just my luck, but my fingers are crossed!!!

All right, I just got some info which answered my question as well as those in this thread prior to mine:

-You can purchase an iPhone at any time from an Apple Store using the iPhone Upgrade Program. You don't need an appointment. It is basically another payment option.
-This includes in-stock iPhones on Sept. 25.
-The reservations are currently closed. However, starting Sept. 26 at 8 a.m., they will reopen online and you can reserve a phone for that day. It will be updated each day at 8 a.m.
-So, as already said here, the iPhone Upgrade Program will be offered beyond launch day.

    Hope that helps everyone out!

I think you are trying to combine reservation and upgrade deal. Since they have stopped taking reservations, they of course can not do the Apple upgrade program. Communication is the key here.

No, I am very much speaking of the upgrade deal. The iPhone upgrade program is essentially an alternate payment option. It will be available through reservation or in store without a reservation. However, reservations won't be available again until the 26th. But if you go into the store on the 25th without a reservation, and there is stock available, you can purchase one under the upgrade program.

All that was pretty clear in my post. The question originally in this thread was whether the upgrade program would be offered after the 25th. I answered that. MY question was whether you could only purchase under the upgrade program with a reservation, and I answered that for anyone else wondering.

So I'm not sure what your issue is with my post.

The title of your thread says "No upgrade program after Sept 25th"

    And then you said:
"I reached out to customer service and they advised me that they will not be doing the iPhone Upgrade Program for purchases AFTER September 25th"

Don't listen to anything the reps say. They are clueless and have no idea how this is all going to work.

My understanding is they are not accepting appointments after 9/25 to reserve a phone going forward, but only AT THIS TIME. This is simply because they don't know what inventory they will have on hand until the store closes the previous night. The iPhone Upgrade Program will be around for years to come. It will just be hit or miss finding inventory once the initial batch sells out, like it does every year. Expect appoints to potentially open up the evening before you would go pick up your phone. Eventually the backlog will clear and appointments won't matter.
