I really like the Starlight colour but after looking at more pictures I am really interested in the midnight. My current MacBook is from 2017 so I am excited for the upgrade! The only thing I am worried about is the fingerprints and scratches, I might change my mind tomorrow though during the preorder, we will see.

I’d say Midnight would be my choice but after hearing it was a total fingerprint magnet during the SHORT hands-on where they were cleaning off the laptops after each press-person and STILL didn’t manage to get them to look clean on most peoples hands-on photos that day.. no thank you.

Starlight is then a solid second place for me. Not boring, tasteful level of gold-ish tint.

i dunno about anyone else, but i am the only one who handles my macbook. regardless, am not going to panic in advance of real-world reports, from individual users, on fingerprints, 'slow' SSDs, etc.

also, there's a whole thread on what color ppl are going to get:

what color air...?..

I've settled on Starlight, actually. I was interested in Midnight, but it simply isn't blue enough for my tastes. In most photos, it looks like my boring dark gray, work-issued Dell.

I really like that Starlight is a very muted gold, almost a white gold or a very warm silver. My wife and I have decorated our house with accents in similar colors so it should tie in nicely with our décor. Of course I might change my mind once I see it in person, but I am optimistic that I will actually like it quite a bit.

matching macbbok to decor heard it all now lol

starlight was a nothing colour on the mini when I had it, would be my last choice

It was my first and only choice among the new Airs. I think it’s an elegant color and it doesn’t show fingerprints and if you get a nick in it, while it would show, it won’t be quite as much of a contrast as it would be against Midnight or Space Grey, which are other colors I also like, to a lesser extent. (There’s no color I dislike).

I love my Starlight iPhone SE and my Starlight Apple Watch. However, I didn’t love the price of the configuration I was interested in and I also am a huge fan of rose gold so I went with the gold M1 Air refurb in the configuration I wanted. Maybe someday I’ll “upgrade” to a refurbished M2 Air. If so, it will be Starlight.

I have a Starlight iPad mini 6. I like the color but I really want the Midnight for my M2 MacBook Air. Looking forward to August.
I'm anxious to see Midnight in person. If I see a lot of blue in it, I might be tempted to return the Starlight I have on order. But I suspect that it's too gray/black for my tastes and also that I'll be happy with Starlight. From the photos, it's the first gold laptop that Apple has made that I actually like.

Have ordered Starlight I had a look at the colour on iPhone at the Apple store. It looks a very pale gold. Not blingy. Hope the air is like that!!!
I did the same thing. In the Apple store I visited, silver and and Starlight looked very similar to each other on one of the iPad models. The Starlight just appeared a bit warmer and I liked it.

I was between Midnight and Starlight and after I saw them on the Apple Watch, I went for Starlight. Midnight was really just too close to black for me. I may regret it, but who knows. At least I’ll have my computer July 15, though! Been waiting AGES to upgrade my 13” pro from 2016.

Starlight is the color I'd get. It's the closest to the white and vibrant colors rumored... The subdued colors on the MacBook range is pretty boring at this point. I guess that's why people put so many dang stickers on their MacBooks...

I have a starlight iPad. it's awesome. not at all "blingy". ordered the starlight Air this morning. after many space grey Macs, this will be fun

Just make sure to order 512GB or above.

The 256GB is likely going to have the same issue as the 256GB version from the MBP.

yes; 'likely'. i want to see real-world reports, benchmarks. and if the 256g model does not show significantly slower behavior... i'll probably go for that.

i want facts, not theories and speculation...

I know this is a Mac post, but I’m still absolutely gutted they’ve removed silver as an option for the newer phones, watches, and iPads.

I know it’s only a hint of gold but I’m a silver guy all the way. Hopefully it comes back as an option in time for my next upgrades!

I want to see Starlight in person. I have it on the iPad Mini and it is hard to see if it is closer to silver or gold. If it looks a bit like parchment, or a taupe I will probably get that. It does look a little richer than silver. We'll see!

No. I had the yellow and rose gold Macbook 12" and Airs. I loooooooved the yellow gold. My favorite computer ever. Didn't like the rose gold much but it's better than boring light/dark gray.

Tried to like the starlight but it's really grey with beige and not very golden yellow. Just another variety of Apple's grey laptops.

Ended up going with the dark blue gray midnight just to have something even slightly different.

My iMac has this beautiful gold (back side) color. Shame they chickened out on that for their consumer laptop line. Very odd decisions at Apple lately.

I want to see the colors in-person before ordering. Apple is known to vary colors among devices even if with the same name color (space grey says hello). I have a feeling Starlight on the Air is going to be more gold based on the stock photos on Apple.com when you compare them to the iPhone and Watch.
