It makes me laugh how this phone can be claimed to be a flagship device, with so many missing features...

No one is claiming it is Apple's flagship phone. People are saying that it performs the same as the flagship phone, has the same camera as the flagship phone, better battery life than the flagship phone, and the other small differences don't worry people, which when combined with the low price point and ideal form factor for many, makes a good phone.

There is no proof it has a better battery than the 6s until people start using it. Apple has made many claims regarding battery life in the past that haven't always been true. There is also zero chance it will have a superior battery to the Plus.

I have no reason to believe it won't have better battery life. Apple claimed that the 6S+ had a longer battery life than the 6S before anyone tested it and it turned out true. Not to mention that reviewers have started testing SE battery life and have confirmed it is better than the 6S already.

Apple claims longer Wifi browsing and LTE browsing times on the SE over the Plus.

The Plus is fairly irrelevant here as most people who like a 4 inch phone are hardly going to be considering a 6S+ as well.

Forget all the numbers they are meaningless. Have you seen a teardown of the plus? The battery is huge, no way the SE will perform better in any scenario

Have you seen how big the screen is on the Plus? As one of the biggest sources of battery drain is the screen, the huge difference in screen size (in both the power consumption to drive the screen + the power needed to backlight and run the display) uses a lot of power. I have no doubt that the Plus battery life is probably better in some ways ( uses that don't involve having a screen on) but in ones that do, I think the SE will come close and possibly beat it.

Anyways this is besides the point that I was making earlier. The SE has better battery life than the 6S which makes it attractive to buyers.

The ipads have large screens but they also have great battery life, screen size is irrelevant . SE owners will be lucky to get same battery life as the 6/6s. I reckon it will take less than a day before we start seeing threads complaining about poor battery life on the SE :D

iPads have even bigger batteries. Screen size is very relevant, as you obviously don't understand that it is going to take more power to light a bigger screen and more power to run a GPU that has to render a bigger display.

In your crusade of irrational hate of this phone, you ignored the part that the SE has already been tested to deliver better battery life than the 6S.

I dont really hate it. I hate the fact Apple made us wait nearly a decade to provide a larger screen phone.

They then resurrect the 5S and make a couple changes to it , and people go crazy for it

You obviously have something against it. You've got your large screen phone now, so you can be happy.

They took the 5S and changed nearly everything about it as has been talked about over and over and over. A new CPU, GPU, double the ram, better camera, bigger battery, NFC etc etc is not "a couple of changes". People are going 'crazy' for it because they can now buy a new 4 inch iPhone with performance and a camera that matches the flagship model, with better battery life than the most popular flagship model, in a screen size that is ideal for many, at a price cheaper than the 6S. That is something to be excited about if thats the sort of phone you're excited for.

Using your logic, you could say that all apple did with the 6+ was to design new design, include a slightly improved CPU and GPU, a slightly improved camera, a bigger battery for better battery life, and NFC and people went crazy over it.

And there is no problem with that. Lovers of larger screened phones went crazy over the 6+ because Apple was offering want they wanted (despite flaws such as too little ram), in the same way that lovers of small screened phones are going crazy over the Se, as it offers them what they want( despite flaws such as lack of 3D touch).

Lots of people did not get excited over the larger screens ... in fact many of us have been fairly vocal about Apple not updating the smaller phones for 2 1/2 years. Apple should have done this with the 5s a long time ago.

The 5s has not been "resurrected", as it has been in production until the SE was announced (you can't resurrect something that is still alive). "Evolved" would be a better description for the SE/5s design.

It doesn't feel like an evolution as the 5S was released all the way back in 2012. Its a 5S with some minor changes lets be real, Apple have done this to protect their profit margins plain and simple.

Wrong - The 5S was released in late 2013. Minor - Yeah right. Two generation better camera and processor + better battery life and numerous other change sis no minor.

The move to larger displays was also just to protect their profit margins as well. Or if you look at it another way, to offer users a choice in display size, the same as offering customers a choice in a smaller screen size.

LTE band 30?? OMG, who the hell cares???
Quite a few people. Check out this thread:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-6s-lte-30-band-and-cdma-version-megathread.1914399/

There are many others that go into it as well. If you go back to last September, you'll find a bunch of people that were very concerned about it. Look at all the non-AT&T customers vowing to pick up the AT&T version, just because of that extra band, even if it was unlikely they'd ever need it.

Not saying it's not a little irrational, but plenty of people seem to care.

2012, 2013 makes no difference , they are still being lazy and using an old design.

Oh god. If they used a 6 style design, you'd be complaining it was too expensive. Or that it had less battery life, as the thicker design allows a bigger battery.

It uses the same casing as it was a design many people love/loved and it is designed to be an entry level phone. I don't know about others, but I'd rather Apple save on the casing rather than putting an older processor/smaller amount of ram in it.

You must hate your 6S+ because apple was lazy and used the same 2014 design again.

So could I assume only device with LTE band 30 has LTE-A? If so, then even not all iPhone 6s/6s Plus are LTE ready.

BTW, Optus in Australia does not support LTE. Only 4G. Maybe Telstra supports it but I would never know.

LTE & 4G are 2 different names for the same thing.

Many I know were holding onto their iPhone 5/5S for the size factor, not everybody wants/likes a huge phone.

Some telcos across the world called HSPA+ 4G(Faux4G) to deflate competitors who launched WiMax back then, my Chromebook with a built-in T-Mobile modem was marketed with Faux4G but its just HSPA+

Actually, strictly speaking LTE (without "advanced") is not 4G, as it does not meet the technical requirements defined by the ITU. But some carriers decided to call their LTE "4G" to differentiate from the older UMTS/HSPA systems. LTE-Advanced is the first system that meets the formal requirements for 4G (which is why the ITU now calls it "True 4G"). Will the real 4G stand up please? :p
