So I'm glad I didn't wait for the Haswell release and bought the rMBP back in February. Could't wait any longer...

So in the new macbook airs that dual core i5 1.3Ghz is better than 1.8 dual core i5 ivy bridge from last year?

But for all the retina macbook fans...we will have to wait a bit more but the future looks great, amazing battery life, with the next macos very smooth user interface for retina. I think that opengl4 it will be better for gamers, i think 10% better performance than 10.8.4, i am right?

So, any realistic guess on when we will see some of the same updates, as we've just heard announced for the airs? I wanna upgrade around september 1st but could wait till Oct, if later, I'll probably get a used current model...

i think the retina macbook pro will be hold for the presentation of the new MAC PRO and iMac upgrades
Am i right? :D

Why cancel the card? Just hang on to it and wait until you're ready.

Which card did you open up if you don't mind me asking.

Opened a 0% on purchases for 15 months card - no point in wasting some of those months for nothing.

I think the rMBP update will come along with the new Mac Pro now....

Any chance of an refreshed rMBP being released during the back to school promotion which should run until Sept.

LOL you all waited for nothing

just buy it now and enjoy it.

if its anything like the air, its just a spec bump and most of you will prob not notice a difference using the 2012 or whenever the 2013 comes out

the next time something is released is prob october when the new imacs were updated

the air have a theorical battery life increase of 3 hours, translates to real life its 1 hour.
thats noticeable.

I'm guessing this along with the release of "Mavericks" (dumb name) will work... Don't see the point of releasing a hardware update now to be honest.

WWDC was a huge disappointment in my opinion. I was expecting more from Mac OS... They just removed some textiles, updated Safari and fixed a dual screen issue from over 2 years ago, no?

Starting from when?

A lot of under-the-hood optimisations, they'll definitely be noticeable, increasing the battery life, reducing CPU usage so more is focussed on the currently used app etc.

They got me again. Damned. I'm so stupid.

I waited for more than 8 months last year for a new iMac and finally they came up with this crappy new design. So I had to buy a Mini.

Now I'm in need of a new notebook and waited for several months for an updated rMBP 13". Money is here, but no product.

The MBA still has only 4 GB of stock RAM (which is clearly not enough to run OSX and some apps) and can only be upgraded to 8GB (which is not enough to run some VM). Furthermore it still has this awful display. So a no buy again.

Why can't they just produce a non-compromise top-notch computer without drawbacks ? Just put the latest-and-greatest stuff inside and it will sell like beer in summer. Why always these just-not-what-I-want stuff ?

I mean I was into Thinkpads for more than 15 years and it was always clear to me which model to buy. There was no waiting. Everything was spec-bumped several times a year. But with Apple I feel like some crack addict on cold turkey. Gimme my stuff, for god's sake !

Wait a minute. If they don't launch the new Retinas until October, doesn't that mean you won't be able to get the "Back to School" offer (whatever it is this year) with it?

That's not cool...

On the apple store the mba has an intel hd 5000 maybe they're waiting for iris/iris pro for the rmbp.

Not a chance. I'm more reluctant to buy a rMBP now than I was a week ago.

I think they are sending us a signal not to buy. Hardly touched the MBA, didn't touch the MBPs, Minis, Phones or iPads at all. Seems fishy. They will get a quiet refresh or there will be something big at some point.

At least you didn't sell yours -.-

13" 2012 MacBook Pro (10.8 Mountain Lion) - Sold waiting for Haswell Retina refresh!

 lol

Buy a new Air, sell 3 month old air and buy rMBP? Doesnt seem to bad :p

To be honest I would have done the same if my Macbook was in resell able condition.

i pretty much expected this with all the rumors leading up to today's event. intel does not have chips ready for the rMBPs or mac pros. i'll continue to wait with my '12 mba in anticipation for the 13r before i sell it. the bad is that it just depreciated a little bit more.

Disappointing I would have liked to buy one and the bottom line is that if you walk into an Apple store tomorrow and buy one of their top of the line laptops, you are buying outdated tech with the more modern MBA sat next to it.

However Haswell has only just been released and even allowing for the lead time manufacturers get most of them are only just beginning to refresh their lineups. There have been well reported issues with supplies of Haswell and has Iris even been released yet?

As the rMBP is relatively new design I'd assumed all we were going to see was a spec bump and minor changes? I'd be surprised if we didn't see an updated in the next few weeks, beginning of July, minor fanfare, Apple store offline etc?

It ties in quite well given that the next major release cycle for the iPhone/iPad is looking around September/October time and with iOS/OSX not released to the fall it'll allow Apple to have another product line release to fill the gap.
