I don’t mind about physical redesign, but definitely expecting new sensors and better batttery life.

If new EU regulations force them to open the API and let other watches compete on equal terms with the Apple Watch, I’ll most probably look elsewhere.

I would like to see an Ultra redesign at some point. I would upgrade my Ultra 1 then. Thinner design, even longer battery life.

Yes, that's what I said in my other post, and why the poster I responded to does think those enhancements aren't innovative is beyond me.
Making good use of the data with the existing sensors is great, but new sensors need to come...
Yes, let's hope!

I'd be more excited about mini LED and Silicon Carbide batteries etc.

I never look at my watch 9 and think that it looks terrible - and Watch 11 and the Ultra look even better.

But every day I want a higher resolution screen and multi day battery life.

What design? It's a flatted blob. The ultra has some design.
It does, but not GOOD design. It’s clunky and utilitarian and not in a way that looks cool. I say this after having one for a year; I went back to the regular series. Even with its (arguably stale) physical design, the polished steel/titanium remains elegant and classic and doesn’t NEED to change for the sake of changing. Would I mind a redesign? No, but I don’t want it to have weird curves and angles like the ultra. If they redesign it, it should be to better optimize internals, add features/battery, pursue a tasteful evolution of the aesthetic, etc. After all, this is something people wear. Like it or not, there is a style/fashion element.

Why mini LED? It already has an OLED display. Am I missing something?

I would like to see a new take on a hybrid watch. Mechanical hands and second hand with the full digital screen behind them. Give the hands a self wind or battery that lasts for years and use the bigger battery for the screen. If the main battery dies, I still have a mechanical watch which is the main purpose of wearing it for me. I dont know what would look best, just thinking out loud.

I agree there is no need to redesign it, but it desperately needs color options again like there used to be. Give us red, blue, etc.

Why do Apple have to release a new Watch model every year when so little changes? I almost think they should move to the same 3-ish year cadence of the AirPods so they can try to make the new model worth the wait.
My guess is the AirPods are used in the same basic way. However, advances in tech could mean better health aspects of a watch, like BP or glucose monitoring. Hence a Yearly update schedule for the Apple Watch.

Tempted to upgrade my very early Ultra 2 with fully functional Blood Oxygen sensor with no kludge work around for readings for an Ultra 3 for the satellite connectivity. Between my military discount and trade in value, I would be out around $350 cash. All Apple Watches only depreciate in value over time.

My purchase of my stainless steel self winding Rolex Oyster Perpetual date and two time zone design Pepsi Cola edition watch for $345 in 1967 in Neuport, RI by the Navy base still works just fine. It is worth over $5,000 today as an original unit in high demand. My other Rolex watches have also appreciated in value.

I dunno why they can't offer another model, a round one.

As for a redesign, it's never truly been, beyond small incremental improvement as technology improved. Ultra is a separate model for those who want more extreme capabilities, I would also like a round one, in a sturdy metal case thats not aluminum. I don't care for health sensors, it would be nice if they could do something like that.
