Between the paranoia concerning upgrading, the delusion that upgrading slows your computer down, and the uncontrolled shouting in your posts of colorful language, may I suggest therapy, and perhaps medication?

I LOL'd. :D

I don't know why, but every couple days my Mac interrupts me and asks me to update iTunes. I tell it NO and select the checkbox to DO NOT ASK ME AGAIN but Steve won't leave me alohone!!!!

To make matters worse, I have 3 Macs so I have to waste more time telling Steve to go to hell, when in reality, HE KNOWS I don't want it because I was signed into my iTunes account each time I refused it. He's got a piece of paper in front of him the reads:
LEAVE ME ALONE!!!!!
I'M A HUMAN/!!1

Cry more

That's iTunes for ya.

Let me get this straight.
76% cpu usage, only 3 of which is from iTunes.
Of what we can see, 47 of it is coming from "YahooWidgetEngine", and the part that is bothering you is that iTunes is using 1 of your nearly 5gb of ram?
Maybe itunes is caching things to make your interface faster, and would gladly give up that ram if asked.

And as a bonus question, how does one come to to have 4892MB of RAM?
The closest I can come up with, assuming biggest possible chips would be
1x4GB chip, 1x512MB chip, and 1x256MB chip which only equals 4864MB.
(9*512 + 256)

Yeah, the Apple reminders (spaminders?) can be pretty annoying.

Others include:
- if you're browsing the iTunes store without being logged in, it will keep asking you to log in after previewing a few songs.

- Possibly the most annoying, the old "Upgrade to QuickTime Pro" messages. And they put a movie icon on your desktop, which if deleted would just be replaced.

itunes 9.1.2 (or whatever the newest one is) doesn't slow my machine. I have a 2.5GHZ MBP w/4GB ram.
