Dual core processor = new hardware update. 8MP Camera = hardware update. Adjustment to Antennae = hardware update.

You don't have to redesign the case of the iPhone to call it a hardware update.

Bumping old threads like this should be a bannable offense.

There's a difference between new and update. We got an update. (well, not me, I bought a used iPhone 4)

By your logic, Apple hasn't released a new MacBook Pro since 2008. New is new. What do you consider the iPhone 3G? Was it a "new" iPhone because of exterior redesign? It had the same processor/ram as the original iPhone.

The OP specifically said this: Apple will not release anything new (iPhone related), the iPhone 4 is it for 2011. Unless Apple's Keynote on 10/4/11 was my imagination, Apple released a new iPhone. It is a new version of iPhone. I guess people are too superficial...

And since the first post says "there will be no hardware updates to the iPhone this year" that's kind of why people are saying he was wrong.
