You are within the holiday return period (at least right now). I am not exactly sure when that began, but I don't see how it would be a problem to return it. That's just me though. I would call and ask.

Holiday return rule started Nov.10th.

Hi all, I went with Cash for My Mac and they gave me a pretty good deal on my 2020 MacBook Air that I thought was a very fair price. I was very pleased with how everything went, including the transactions and interactions with customer service. I know that this totally sounds like an advertisement for them, but it's good that someone is at least willing to take the trade-in and let me purchase the M1 when Apple didn't provide an option for the trade.
FWIW, I believe it's CashForYourMac.com not "my" - also be sure to check with MacMeAnOffer.com (aka MacOfAllTrades.com). Different vendors will offer different amounts. I used MMAO for my 2018 MBP15 and the transaction was smooth as silk; I received exactly what I was originally quoted.

I'm very sad I bought my MacBook pro 2020 base model in October and received it on November 6 and it still sealed, so do you think Apple will swap it for me with the new one?
Doubtful at this point but you could always ask. Officially you had two weeks from when it was delivered.

The thirst for the M1 is real...apple some how has convinced you all that your laptops stopped working over night

It's true! Apple has introduced trade in for 2020 Macs that are still in for sale (MBP 2020 I5 10th Gen 16Gb 512Gb like mine at 2229€). I think they are completely crazy. 770 euros (trade in values) for a pc that sells for 2229 euros. 3 times devalued just out of the shop ...
A little update.
Yesterday I tried to simulate the trade in option again for my 2020 i5 macbook.
From 770 euros the valuation was increased to 1340 euros and so I made the switch!
