I don't know where you saw this, but the app is available on any Apple Watch running watchOS 11 RCNo tide app for series 8?!? It’s just an app right and doesn’t rely on a moon/sea sensor? 😂
I believe S10 is a just a rebranded S9. Apple didn’t unveil it with performance improvements over S9.Seems more likely Apple didn't have anything new to offer the Ultra or simply ran out of time, and phoned it in with the color update. I doubt Apple is comfortable with the Series 10 using S10 SiP while Ultra 2 on S9.
It is also VERY difficult to have health advancements annually. Not only do they have to develop the tech, they usually have to get approval from the health regulators of every country it’s sold in. Hell, my country STILL doesn’t have ECG and arrhythmia detection. It’s not as simple as throwing money at it and finding annual success. There is a lot of red tape that goes along with it. Just look at the Blood Oxygen sensor in America right now. At least I have THAT where I live.Casio, Timex, and Swatch don't have a $30 billion annual R&D budget.
How long does your Ultra2 last? I'm tempted to get this AWS10 but my last WAS3 had quite a poor battery life. I got annoyed charging every night, and eventually battery got swollen and broke the watch. Ultra2 is tempting, but pricey. For that amount I could get great Garmin watch with 10x the battery life. Damn you apple ecosystem.I think the AW Ultra 2 is still up to 1000 nits brighter than AW 10. Also - has dual frequency GPS. The Ultra 2 has such long battery life, it would be hard to go back to normal AW, although the thinner and lighter AW 10 look nice.
It was a very strange update. I have been trying to find a reason to replace my older 6 with the Ultra 3 (or "updated" 2 as it turns out) but the 10 has s10 SiP and a much faster charge time than the Ultra. Surely logic would dictate they at least give the Ultra 2 these features. And it is circa $450 AUD cheaper.
The Ultra takes longer to charge because it has a larger battery. Just like a 32 gallon gas tank in a car takes longer to fill up than a 14 gallon gas tank, with flow rate being equal. It was a very strange update. In Germany wie get the blood Oxygen Sensor acc. to the Technical specification. So no-one is talking about blood oxygen sensor being completely dropped out starting with Series 10?
It's there for those who don't live in the US:So no-one is talking about blood oxygen sensor being completely dropped out starting with Series 10?
Oe, Epix 2 Pro. That's the model with AMOLED display, right? A fantastic watch! I don't think Apple will ever release an Apple Watch like that. Heck, they'll never add ANT+, so an Watch is quite useless for runners and cyclists. The standard watch updates are good. The Ultra still has a long ways to go to compete with Garmin watches. The sleep apnea detection is tempting to me, but I still need what my Garmin Epix 2 Pro brings over what Apple offers.
Also worth remembering that the rumours were never that you’d get numbers. Just if it’s trending upwards over time.I would’ve finally considered my 1st Apple Watch had they introduced the blood pressure monitoring that was rumored this year, it would’ve been helpful.
No longer interested and it can wait another year.
This tech is years away, any watch that is doing it now are very inaccurate.I would’ve finally considered my 1st Apple Watch had they introduced the blood pressure monitoring that was rumored this year, it would’ve been helpful.
