no service

    Just turned on my new verizon iPad and verizon flashed at the top and now it just says no service. I know this is a verizon service area. I also tried my at&t skim and nothing. Is this normal if it is not activated for cell service or is there a problem with my iPad.

    Have you gone through the set up process yet? If you didn't connect to wifi and you haven't signed up for cellular - you will get "no service."

    Its in the middle of a restore from backup but all of my settings are restored. I saw it say verizon with full bars during the initial setup but just says no service now. So this is normal?

    I don't remember what it does when restoring from back-up, but it would make sense that it would not connect while restoring. Wait until you are finished and then see if it connects.
