The only way I found to make it work is to change Denon to bypass meaning no OSD. Same is connecting ATV directly to the TV.

No. The problem is that the electronics that we use in home applications are slower than we would like them to be. The HDMI handshake is something that both the source and the sink use to determine which signal speed and bit-level should be sent down the cable. That is kind of like what the old telephone-modems used to do to negotiate their common communication speed. Remember the shrill, back and forth tones?
