Whats wrong with Apple? The Android phones on Verizon can do simultaneous voice and data...

So I guess now that this info is on MacRumors Front Page, I'm very disappointed, now only few hours left before the preorder, I don't know what to do? I do like this feature but I don't want to stay with the crappy service of AT&T! I know AT&T 3G signal is crappy but the LTE of AT&T is it that bad???

No, it's just not widespread. Does AT&T have LTE where you live? Do you travel a lot? Do you need LTE in those locations? It may not be a big deal.

I wanted to switch but changed my mind when VZW changed their plans. Keeping my "unlimited" data.

I live in San Diego, CA and at my work at downtown San Diego, the 3G signal is crappy but we do have AT&T LTE signal but then I don't know how good the AT&T LTE signal is on my area but I do need LTE. Should I consider AT&T and keep my unlimited also?

Atts lte network is completely different than the 3G one. The lte network could be better or could have holes where you drop back to 3G. Until you test out the device, it's hard to say how your experience will be. It shouldn't be as bad as your 3G overall

It's worth considering. I'd check around for input from others in the area. There's also a website that reports this stuff. Perhaps someone here will post it.

The Verge is just relaying the info, so why are they dumb?

So I stand corrected. I thought Apple was using that dualband Qualcomm chip that was touted as able to do simultaneous voice and data....obviously they used a different variant on the VZW one...pretty dumb...
