Nope very easy, just cut out a non-notched green screen like cover for the iPhone and replace the content in post, the perspective is not a prob, too. That's a lot of work for someone to go through in post to remove that notch!

I've used my X for nearly 4 years and still don't notice the notch?
A faked iPhone, because Apple is ashamed for the notch. Watching Ted Lasso in a few years from now would always remind them about the ugly notch they had.

amazing piece. thank you for a good laugh! Why does Apple decide to maintain the Face ID on the era of face-masks while it also creates an undesired notch taking valuable screen space? Simple:
FACE ID IS A GREAT EMOTIONAL SURVEILLANCE FEATURE
AI face gesture tracking meta-data has a GREAT commercial value as businesses can buy peoples facial responses to products & services, same way most smartphones hear your voice 24/7 to offer targeted advertising (nothing new).
Because it is a profitable business for Apple, it is here to stay way long and re-adapt into under-screen sensors..
I don’t think Apple is embarrassed about anything at this point in time, least of all it’s “notch”. Their shareholders are quite happy, and also their customers & even developers. It’s Epic’s Freedom Foundation & Governments that are pissed.Yup, it's just Apple being embarrassed of their own notch so they asked the VX crew to hide it on Burn In shots like this. Nothing to see here other than Apple silently acknowledging the notch is stupid.
Yeah, you didn’t notice it much simply because Apple kept hiding it between dark background colours.I find the notch hate to be super overblown . . . especially on this forum. I've had my XS for almost 3 years and don't notice the notch.
Dude, most of have a version of the phone with the notch it. We’ve obviously used it in those circumstances. It’s fine.Yeah, you didn’t notice it much simply because Apple kept hiding it between dark background colours.
Watch a movie or play a game at horizontal mode and shame - shame - shame.
They could have ditched the notch already, the tech to replace the notch already exists.
But they didn't release it yet, simply because they wouldn't have anything to show off 2022/23, they don't want to play all their trump cards at once.
Well yeah, they could have easily done that instead. But the compositor likely simply didn’t bother, thinking who really cares or would notice. Why would you not put the notch onto the superimposing content of the display, instead of tracking/keyframing the notch?...
The screen refreshes at a rate that isn't consistent with the video camera. If you've taken a video of a TV or monitor you can usually see it refreshing (a band moving across the screen and washed out colours). It's generally quite distracting and doesn't look the way you expect (a crisp clear moving or static image)The superimposed display added in post-production looks so fake .Why can't they just use a real iPhone? At the very least they could have made the display more realistic.
Or just watch it because it's the best show on the air right now. Seriously. It's a great show.“OMFG I SAW APPLE DEMO THEIR NEW PHONE ON THE DUMB **** show!!!”
If you don’t see it for the random nominations see it for this folks.
Being a person who actually does this for a living, I can tell you, it's not an easy thing to do practically. There are a number of things that can mess up a phone insert shot. Actor's need to hold their hand still for focus because the depth of field is very shallow. Also they have to angle it just right so they don't get a glare or reflection of the camera/equipment. They have to to it several times and get the timing exactly right so the graphics on screen, which are usually custom made for the scene, will time properly. It takes a lot of coordination between the actor, camera operator, focus puller, dolly grip and the playback person controlling the graphics on the phone. It's usually easier to just do it in post. The superimposed display added in post-production looks so fake .Why can't they just use a real iPhone? At the very least they could have made the display more realistic.
I think it would look a lot nicer if they made the notch shorter, but kept the width, on the iPhone 13. Instead of making it less wide.I look forward to an iPhone sans notch, when and if Apple feels they can get equal to superior performance out of it.
It's mental. I am sure you can see it just fine.I've used my X for nearly 4 years and still don't notice the notch?
I'm pretty sure they can see it just fine, just that it isn't distracting in any way to them. I don't notice it either. I've been using every phone since they started using a notch and never found it to be a problem. I think the phone would look better without it, but don't really have any strong feelings about it either way. It's mental. I am sure you can see it just fine.
Ah interesting, thanks. Though I guess Apple doesn’t really compete directly with inexpensive monitors and gaming laptops. It would be much more surprising if it was something like a surface studio and surface laptop!ASUS and Razer in Mythic Quest...
