Most iPhone users on the forum don't frequent the jailbreak section since they don't know that a 7.1.1 jailbreak has been released, which is why I posted it here to let them know :)

More would know if Macrumors put the story on the front page though.

Good links in this thread, and thanks for the post.

I did not know there was a 7.1.1 jailbreak...

NP, happy to help spread the word of jailbreak goodness :)

All info in the iOS section :) but yea it was crazy to see all the traffic in there.

Well since the iPhone section has roughly 1100 people viewing it at any given moment and as of this writing the view count on this thread is 306 in a few minutes since being first posted, I'd say this thread is doing the job it's supposed to by being in the iPhone section and getting the word out to those who don't know yet ;)

I'm sure once Macrumors finally puts up the news of the 7.1.1 jailbreak on the front page of the site then a moderator will lock this thread anyways.

MacRumors generally doesn't create an article about iOS being jailbroken.

Huh?

Just a few I found in a couple of seconds...
iOS 7 : https://www.macrumors.com/2013/12/2...-updated-for-newer-iphones-ipads-and-ios-7-x/

iOS 6 : https://www.macrumors.com/2013/02/0...-on-1-7-million-devices-since-monday-release/

iOS 5 : https://www.macrumors.com/2012/01/2...ntethered-jailbreak-for-iphone-4s-and-ipad-2/

If you go on the front page of macrumors and search for the term "jailbreak" you will find lots of front-page articles about it.

Those are for primary iOS version jailbreaks or for stats about recently jailbroken devices. What they generally don't post an article about is a point update jailbreak.

Ah, I see what you're saying now.

Well, if Macrumors doesn't want to cover the story then I guess it's a good thing I posted this thread in the iPhone section then so people who don't frequent the jailbreak section of the forums know that a jailbreak is currently available! :D

OP, not knocking you. You provided a service, that's good.

But, I'll just say this. Most of the MR members that are inclined to jailbreak are aware of the JB forum here. Those that are not inclined to jailbreak aren't reading your post.
