No White Iphones From Apple

I wish. I'm just hoping they'll be in Apple stores on launch day. Whatever, this was disappointing. Off to bed.

Absolutely. The point is him getting the message that we're pissed and greatly disappointed. Even if he doesn't read my paragraph, I hope he gets lots of messages and that even by looking at the subject, he will get the point that Apple f'd up. Again. I say again because I was gonna go ahead and order 4 bumpers but the ship dates are screwy and after launch so it's not even worth it. the same hting happened with the iPad case during the iPad launch. Don't they expect people to want these with their new device?

I just can't believe I was ready to throw about $1000 to this company and now they aren't getting a penny. That may be nothing by itself, but I know I'm obviously not alone, so it's just asinine to me that they don't prepare better by now. It's so stupid.
 
If white are available "Late summer" is this like September because I can't wait that long I have already sold my phone and need one within the next few weeks.
 
Now imagine if it were the black phones that got delayed! The defecation would hit the oscillation big-time!

I am sooo Freakin upset about the white iPhone!!!! I was just going to order one with a friend but after reading that the white one would not be available, i just burst a blood vessel in my brain. :mad:
I'm gonna go hide under the covers and get some sleep...

Seriously, this isn't some "Let's create a product that people really want, that is in high demand for a few months," this is "We've launched products with all intentions of fulfilling our customer's needs, and then totally dropped the ball and won't even give an estimate on the ETA of a product we unveiled 7 days ago!"

so is it possible to order the black one and use it for up to 30 days then return it for the white one (if available)?
 
If you want to pay a restocking fee for opened hardware, yes, you may buy iPhone 4 black and then swap out for white within 30 days.
 
The way i read it with it not being available for pre-order is that they simply aren't taking pre-orders for the white because they don't have enough made to guarantee it. I think if it wasn't going to be available "later in the summer" that would be said. I think it will be available launch day but we just have to stand on line for one. I hope what i make from this is true. I going to wait it out. Don't think i could wait til september though.
 
Stuck at the Processing Information page

Initially the pre-order went through swiftly to the page where I had to decide whether to pick-up or have it delivered. I guess I took a little too long to decide because when I did, the browser failed.

Every since, I cannot get past the PI page. :mad:

Oh, and I want to order the white one too, but I'll settle, I guess. I'm not happy about it.

Edit: I ordered directly from AT&T against my better judgment, as they do NOT guarantee a delivery date

FYI - "The iPhone 4 comes in two colours - black and white .... ... and these go on sale June 24th" were Steve's exact words during the keynote.

I want to believe that, but the story from yesterday about certain stores confirming no white phones drains my optimism. And if your theory turns out to be true, what does that mean for people who preorder black but wanted white? When they get to the store on the 24th, can they exchange it if available? Ugh, I wouldn't be so mad if Apple had just given us a heads up about this delay a few days ago, BEFORE I decided to sell my 3G.

I'm starting to question it too being it's only a week away. :( Very disappointed. I can't wait til end of summer with this slow 3G. I like black too but always wanted white. As far as people swapping them out when they pick them up.... they will still have to wait on line too so just get there early. If they pre-ordered for pick up they won't be able to switch their pre-order color. That's what happened with the iPad. A few wanted to change it to the 32gb but weren't allowed to, they had to buy what they reserved. I'm not going to pre-order and hope white shows up soon.
 
I am not as excited now that they don't have the white one. The black one looks identical to the 3GS at a glance, so it takes the wind out of the sail for me.

I've ordered the black one, but I'm not hyped with anticipation. I'll just play with my existing iToys and wonder WTH to do when the white one's announced...which I suspect will be soon given the bad press that the lack of it may bring Apple.

Maybe I just won't open the black one if the white one is released within the allowed exchange time, then I'll swap it.
 
I wonder if its limited quantity and first come first serve as opposed to the pre order black option. Nowhere does it say that it wont be available, just not for pre order. Might have to get campin again.
 
I told everyone that I wanted the black one and that the white one doesn't look as nice, but now that I can't have it....I REALLY want it. crap

Sad that Apple isn't going to deliver white by that day. Who knows what will happen. Imagine all the people who wanted white, but settled on black only to find out what becomes available later today or in a couple of days. Bet things get interesting than
